Hello! I'm new to this group. I just adopted Anka from a local rescue. She is ~7yrs. old and has terrible skin!

There are smallish bumps on her head. They are not oozy or red looking. She has what appear to be a couple of hot spots. Her "elbows" are red and kind of scaly - maybe from laying on hard surfaces?

Anyhoo, we have an appointment with the vet tomorrow but I know that it's often difficult to determine what a pup may be allergic to.

Anka was fostered for ~3 yrs. by the same family. She was fed Nature's Variety Salmon Meal & Barley. I currently have her on Wellness CORE since that is what my other pups eat.

So, what are all you handsome pups allergic to and what kind of food do your pawrents feed you?

Sorry for not checking the groups. My Dal too has alot of allergies. After countless tests....He is fed a dry food, Venison and patato. Prescription diet. His treats are carrots, apples and real venison meat. I have friends that hunt. That is all he gets. I also supplement his food with salmon oil.....

Iknow this is old, but I'll answer anyway. I feed our Maizy Taste of the Wild Pacific Stream Salmon and Origin fish. Both are grain-free--big improvement. Treats are raw carrots or the dog food kibble. Wish I could find more special treats. She's allergic to beef and anything with feathers.
