I find I get a horrible response when I tell people I have 2 rotti's but once people meet them I would say 85% fall in love. I actually have friends that had a debilitating fear of all dogs and now walk one of my rotti's. People that don’t like any specific breed of dog are either scared for whatever reason and or ignorant to the facts.

I know! My mom had lots of friends that were scared of me till they met me... Even to this day if my Oma & Opa talk about me, and they get asked what kind of dog I am, my Opa is so proud of me even though he was a little hesitant of me before he met me, he proudly speaks up and says I'm a Rottweiler and they get scared or concerned that I might do something... I'm WAY too loved (and a big suck) to even remotely think about harming any of my humans!!!

We get the same..people have us locked into this vicious, dangerous dog persona and we look at it this way ...its now our job to make good rotty impressions and be ambassadors of our breed...anyone that forms a bad opinion on rotties before ever meeting us is quick to change their minds...we love kids even though mommy doesn't have any in our house, and almost everything else (except a couple of neighbors cats, they're always teasing us) My mommy always says, anyone that stereotypes us before having any breed info is people that we don't want to know...cause like she always tells people "There are no Bad Dogs..just bad owners!!!"

I THINK THERE ARE ONLY 2 REASONS WE GET THIS BAD REP. BAD OWNERS WHO HAVE US FOR THE WRONGS REASONS, LIKE TO STRIKE FEAR IN PEOPLES EYES. THEY MAKE US THIS WAY BY ABUSE AND NEGLECT. KEEP US CHAINED UP TO A TREE OUTSIDE ALL THE TIME. YES I SAID OWNERS B/C THEY VIEW US AS PROPERTY. I HAVE A LOVING FAMILY A MOM, DAD AND 3 HUMAN SISTERS, A CANINE SISTER, AND A FELINE BROTHER AND SISTER. NONE OF THEM OWN ME LIKE PROPERTY. THEY ARE MY CAREGIVERS, PACK LEADERS, I WILL DEFEND AND LOVE THEM UNCONDITIONALLY. THEY WILL DO THE SAME FOR ME. THE 2ND IS THE MEDIA AND PEOPLE LIKE THE BSL (BOO). THE NEWS IS QUICK TO REPORT WHEN WE REACT OUT OF FEAR OR BEING HURT. WE CANT COMMUNICATE WHERE PEOPLE CAN UNDERSTAND. TO TELL THEM YOUR HURTING ME. ALL WE CAN DO IS GROWL, BARK OR BITE, THAT IS IF WE CANT GET OUT OF A SITUATION. MY NAME IS CHRIS AND MY WIFE AND I HAVE 3 DAUGHTERS 7, 13, 20. OUR MIA HAS NEVER GIVEN US ANYTHING OTHER THAN HER LOVE. WE HAVE NVR BEEN AFRAID OF HER AND SHE HAS NEVER SHOWED ANY AGGRESSION TOWARDS US. I WILL DEFEND MIA AND
SADIE ( GERMAN SHEPARD/SIBERIAN HUSKY) LIKE I WOULD MY WIFE OR DAUGHTERS TILL MY DYING BREATH.....
IF YOU DONT HAVE A TAIL SHAKE YOUR RUMP ROTTIE'S

Yeah, I know. Especially yuppie mothers walking with their little boys from private schools going "It's chasing too many children" when she's only out the front when someone from my family is. She is even inside the fence and doesn't even barks at the kids, just playfully bounces like they do.
Then Berris and my other dog were fighting over a bone as they do and she bit Daisy, I told someone and they said "told ya they were nasty dogs".
There is also this very uptight jugemental lady across the road from us, always making comments about her "oh there were no dog messes in this street before you got her" when she actually has a place to do her stuff and that is NOT on the streets, plus she tends not to do anything on walks, and "she still belongs on a farm!" we take her for atlead three walks a day including the reserve where she can run around and play with other dogs.
