My name is Teddy and my mom is new here too, and is also having a hard time with my passing. For the past few months she has just been in denial about the whole thing, and has hardly been able to let herself think about me because it just makes her heart hurt SO much. Now she is starting to accept what has happened and is making a scrapbook with all of my pics, which is fun but makes her cry a LOT! She hasn't been able to order my urn yet though, she keeps trying to but hasn't even though she wants my cremains to be in something beautiful.

My mom and I just didn't get enough time together. We were soulmates and while she loves her other dogs, we had an extra special bond in the 1.5 years we were together... we did practically everything together. I had many illnesses, but she didn't expect me to go the way I did and blames herself for it every day... I think deep in her heart she knows I went quickly and didn't suffer, but she would do anything if she could change what happened so I was still here with her now.

Thanks for letting mom vent a little... she misses me an awfully lot! cry

Teddy...I only got 11 months with my Julie. She says that I was her doggy soulmate. We know how you feel. It is just not fair. cry Please tell your mom to just hang in there and take it day by day. I think the scrapbook is a good idea and will help. Also maybe she can write all about you, either in your dogster diary or in the scrapbook. hughughughug

It is always hard when we lose someone we love. We have all been there and truely understand the pain you are feeling. It really is neccessary to grieve and we all do so in different ways.

One thing I do know is....It helped my mom to talk about it..

Please know we are all here for your Mom.

Thanks you guys for the support. It's helping my mom to write in my diary and looking at posts here to see that she's not alone.. you all know how most of the rest of the world just doesn't get how we feel about our furkids, so it's wonderful to have somewhere to connect with others who feel the same way!

Oh.... My goodness Teddy....Mom's FAMILY didn't even understand why it took so long to "get over" Me coming to the bridge. So she just clammed up which I think was the worst thing for her. She went on to cry every night and felt like she was a closet griever, if there is such a thing. Dad shows his grief in a different way...he just chooses NOT to talk about it bacause it makes him sad. Thank DOG...Mom found Dogster.. and especially the RBAB group. She certainly would have gone crazy. Now when she talks to me or holds my urn, she feels good about it and the memories make her cry but many of them are now happy tears knowing I am up here and not alone. I have all my furends.. I love it here and that makes her smile again. Sorry this is so long...the holidays.........
