I notice a lot of us "dingo-ey" dogs are sort of the agility types. Even if we only step over cracks in the sidewalk we're all pretty graceful. But I was just wondering how high everyone can jump and what they like to jump for.

I jump as high as my brother, Kierke, because he bugs me. I get tired of him barreling into me so I just jump over his rear whenever I don't want to play so he can't see me. Hee--Leda

WOO!! I can jump CRAZY high!! We've never actually measured, but the human's friend Steve is 6' 5" and I have jumped high enough to get my hands on his shoulders to give him kissies. It all depends on how excited I am. When I play catch with the humans I can get some pretty big air, sometimes 4 or 5 feet-- mostly I do this just to keep big butt Brandy from getting the ball because she does NOT have a body for jumping (long Lab body, Border Collie legs-- bad combo) but also just because it's fun and the humans seem to enjoy it.dancing

I would like to do agility classes, but I've just graduated from puppy school red face I can spaz out and tear around the house jumping over and scooting under furniture without knocking anything over which I think really impresses guests.

My very favourite thing so far is to jump over other dogs. I love to show off at the park by running faster than the other dogs and then jumping clear over them like a stunt dog. Mum thinks the other dogs might not like it, but let's face it, the important thing is that it makes them chase me. If the dogs won't play with you at the park, just try jumping over them! So far the largest dogs I have jumped over are large labs and rottweilers.

I've jumped over a sofa back...they wouldn't let me onto the sofa so I showed them! I routinely jump onto the tree that grows sideways outside, its about 4.5ft off the ground or so. I also jump up and grab balls out of my daddy's hand that he holds straight out, so my head can hit maybe around 6ft. or so if I try? I LOVE to jump around!

Oooh, I love to jump! Mom signed me up for agility because the first time Grandma and Grandpa came to meet me I jumped up on the high, narrow table behind the sofa. I sometimes jump over the footboard on Mom's bed -- the one she has now isn't that high, but the old one was about three feet tall. Oh, and I jumped up on the counter at the vet's office last time I was there -- that one's really high: chest-high on Mom. Boy, were the ladies there impressed!

The time that freaked Mom, though, was the time I jumped *down* -- off a 12-foot wall! I hit the ground running! BOL!!!!

I put my paws on the top of our fence out back to talk to the boxers who live behind us. Mom says it's a 4-ft. tall fence. Then I jump up and can get my back feet up onto the cross-wood at the top. At daycare, I regularly jump over the 3 1/2 foot divider between the big dogs and the little tiny pooches (I like to go check on them smile Doug, who runs my daycare, says I do it very gracefully and I am very careful not to land on any of the little dogs! But I NEVER jump over the gate at home. That would land me in the doghouse for sure! Luckily for me, it's only closed when Mom and Dad are both gone, and it only leads into the living room anyway. None of my toys are in there.
