hello everyone!
i'am five months old and have lived with my mommy for almost two months now, and she loves me very much but she has some questions about my breed. My mommy does realize that I'am still a puppy and that I'm still learning. She was hoping if she posted a new topic that maybe some fellow chihuahua owners could share their ideas or stories about their own experiences.
My mommy has heard that chihuahuas are very affectionate and loving but I don't seem to want to be around my mom a lot. I run away from her whenever she trys to pick me up and generally enjoy being by myself. I like to hide from her in places she can't reach me and the only thing that I respond to is getting a treat. I won't sit or lay next to her whenever she's around. She is very curious to why I act like this because she spends a lot of time with me. My mommy sometimes feels like I don't like her and wonders what she is doing wrong. Is this behavior normal? Can you give her some tips that will make me want to be around her more?

I find that they go in phases, for a while he will shy away but other times, I can't keep him off me! Just keep reaching out and start working on training. Sit, come and stay are pretty easy for them to master. We just started working with the leash and Tootie actually went to the door with Hannah this afternoon to let me put it on him!
