I consider myself fairly well informed on animal welfare and we were lucky enough to adopt our first pup in an easy manner. When looking for a new edition, we wanted a puppy for the simple reason we had never had one. We found a group who was listed as a puppy mill rescue group. We adopted Winnie and love her to death. The group that rescues her though goes to puppy mills and buys animals in "back to kennel auctions". My concern is, even though we saved Winnie from a life in a confined cage w/ little to no human interaction, we did supply more money in a non-direct way to people running puppy mills. I would love to hear thoughts on this. We live in Michigan and I would be open to discussing ways my husband and I can help stop puppy mills in our area and beyond.

Thanks!
