Does anyone have tips on bathing? Jobie has the most gorgeous shiny black coat, but he gets a little stinky sometimes.

Any hints????

My daddy suggested an oatmeal based shampoo. Have you tried that?

Bogie tends to get stinky fast, too. Is that common with coonhounds? I don't think it's good to bathe them too often--any other suggestions?shrug

I like to think I'm not stinky...just that I possess a natural hound fragrance (they should bottle it, doncha think?) I hate baths and make it tough for my mom when she gives me one. You should try avoiding them at all costs. Brushing, on the other paw, is nice and makes me look even more handsome.

My pup doesnt get stinky at all... even after he went swimming in the ocean he wasnt that bad... i use a black cherry vanilla shampoo... i dont remember what its called though, its in a tall clear bottle and has white graphics with a puppy dog on the front.
