Hello Pitties and their owners!

We have a question: under the current understanding of Ontario's BSL, can a pittie-mix and his owner now travel from the U.S. to Ontario? Or would we be turned back? Also, if we are allowed to cross, could Chumley be confiscated (even if he is muzzled and leashed in public) because he "looks like a pitbull"?

We just want to go on holiday in Algoma together! And we don't want anything bad to happen to Chumley, nor do we want to break any laws.

Chumley is a rescued pound dog--he is registered to me in New York City as a "terrier mix." Most likely, he is a lab-pit cross. (He has a long lab face, and a muscle-y pittie body.) He is neutered and microchipped and vaccinated, of course. And trained!

thanks all, in advance,
Chumley and his person

I'm afraid the answer is most likely yes. I'd say don't take the chance of losing your cutie to our stupid laws. Find yourself a great sitter. Sowie for the bad news.

Although this thread was from last year, I thought I'd like to add a comment incase this question comes up again.
Not only is a bullie or bullie look-a-like not allowed into Ontario, the law states that dog will be seized and put down, plain and simple.
There are cities in Ontario that prohibits Bullies of other cities entering their city unless they first get a license for that city also, even if you only planned on visiting for a day. Some don't allow any in at all.
To bring them into the province is putting a death sentence on them. If anyone asks, the answer is plain and simple. NO!
On-Scario wants to rid the province of our dogs. To bring one in would be suicide.
