Glad to have you onboard. We would love to have you share some pics with the group. We also would like to hear how you came about loving and owning a pit bull.

Hi.....I'm Uggi's mom, Yvette. My family has had pitties since the 1970s. My sitser got the first one waaay back when.

Years later my sister had chow/akita mix that had puppies. I eneded up taking the only all black one, turns out the daddy was the neighbor's pit bull, so that is how Faelcor the Apitka came about.

Faelcor and I had 10 wonderful years together, he was my companion, little boy, familiar. Then last year we lost him to cancer...the same thing that his mother died from. It almost destroyed me, sent me right into a depression.

Then about a month later I was on the internet and saw Uggi's picture at the Villalobos Rescue Center website....even my husband fell for him. Right there and then we decided that Uggi needed us or me as much as I needed him. We went out to meet him and he came home about two weeks later!

Faelcor is still around the house in the spirit form...I know this because he is teaching Uggi. Like when I had a migraine headache Fael would curl up next to me on the bed and put his head on my feet while I slept...well Uggi now does the exact sme thing when I am not feeling well. I still "see" Fael from time to time out of the corner of my eye....and Uggi will "talk" to him sometimes.

The really wonderful thing about finding Uggi is that after my sister met him, she decided that she missed have a pittie in her life, so she went out to Villalobos and adopted Gracie! So now Uggi and Gracie are "cousins".

Hi,
I am Ceasar's mom Cindy. I had come home sick from work one day and I stopped at a store on my way home. There was this puppy laying on the sidewalk in front of the store. He was pitiful. He was barely breathing.
When I went in the store I asked the cashier about the puppy .She said that he had been there about an hour and that they had tried to give him some water or something to eat but he wouldn't move. It broke my heart. So I got some water and I went out and sat down beside him. I started to pet him and talk to him. He opened his eyes but he still didn't move. I put some water in my hand and kind of dripped it in his mouth. I finally got him to drink out of my hand. He started to perk up. I picked him up and took him home with me. We fell in love from that first minute.I tried to find his owners but never could. I think someone dumped him because there are a lot of bans on pitties where we are from. The last thing I needed was another dog, but I love that dog. He is so sweet, so cute, not at all what I expected from a pit. I wish people would give them a chance. They are loving, sweet, wonderful dogs.

It was Father's Day 2 years ago. The first Father's Day since my dad passed away. It was going to be a sad day..but it wasn't.
It was about 5:30 AM and I couldn't get my boys to stop barking at the gate. I went to investigate. There she was standing at the fence staring into the yard. I said hello and she started to wag all over. I stuck my finger through the fence and talked to her as she wiggled and licked my finger. I opened the gate and she barrelled in and ran around the yard with the boys following close behind.
My dad and I shared a love of dogs so I like to say that he brought her to me that day so I wouldn't be sad.
It appears that she was dumped as all the contact numbers on her microchip were disconnected, all of them.
She is such a fun, loving girl! I am so happy that she found us! cheer

It was a very odd, roundabout sort of story. I grew up with dogs (mutts) and always liked them until I was 12. Then I was attacked by a junkyard dog while riding my bicycle (I was actually dragged off my bike into a ditch and bitten multiple times- I still have scars). For the next ten years, I was terrified of all dogs regardless of breed (at the time I wasn't very breed savvy, my main experience being with funny muppety mongrel dogs- I wouldn't have known a pit bull from a Pekingese, but I was scared of them all). Then I made friends with a girl who had this amazing pit mix named Cleo. At first I was as scared of Cleo as any other dog, but she wiggled her way into my heart, being nothing but gentle, sweet and loving. Shortly thereafter I first found out about BSL and the fact that "dogs like Cleo" were being taken from their homes and destroyed... it made me really upset. I decided that I wanted to save the life of one of these amazing but really misunderstood dogs. I found Billie Jean through a local rescue and, despite having had a very hard early life (she was bred very early and repeatedly, stunting her growth and development; she also appears to have been abused) she never ceases to amaze me with her resiliency. She loves everyone and everything, and her new life makes her so happy that it makes ME overwhelmingly happy to have been able to give it to her.

My parents aren't sure how many owners were before them. Maybe 5. They do know that a distant friend of their cousin dropped me off for him to watch me for a couple of weeks - 4 months later the friend still didn't come back for me and the cousin had to move and couldn't take me with him. So it was my now parents or the shelter. Good thing my now parents took me cause they found out I had heart worms and the shelter would of but me down with out a question. One Vet even asked if I came from hurricane Katrina since I had heart worm. My now parents are not sure how old I am. One vet says 2 another says 5-6. They may never know. I do know that I have found my forever home, and I am so thankful and do show it. I just need to learn how a family works - always staying together and never leaving!

Hi Everyone!
My name is Chloe. I'm 14 weeks old. I'm a blue fawn bully pit bull. My blood line is Ganghis Kon (did I spell that right?) I'm my mommy's first dog. I'm glad she picked me out of all the other puppies she could have gotten. I love making her laugh and doing tricks for my dad. I get extra happy and wag my tale like I've never wagged it before when they come home from work. I can't wait to go to the dog parks and meet other dogs but I have to wait til I'm a little older and get more shots. But for now I play with my best pals: Buddy(Beagle) and Scarlet (Yorkie Terrier). happy dance

Well the story of diamonds arrival goes like this- my husbands best friends dog had a litter of 11 puppies and we happened to be at his house a few hours after they were born(how cute!) and one of the pupies was choking. M y husband saved this puppy's life. Then we didn't see his friend for a while. During this whole time all my husband could talk about was getting one of the pit puppies. Now to be honest I had no first hand experience with pits and I was kinda scared of them. Not to mention he was selling them for$800.00 which was way too much for us. But about three months later were at his house again and he still had 2 puppies left. He went on to tell us that he just couldn't afford to take care of his adult pit and puppy as well as the two others so he tells us that if we want one of the last two we could have it. So after about 10 seconds(cause thats all it took for me to agree after I looked at her adorable face) we picked her over the male and our little(now BIG) diamond girl stole our hearts! And just for the record I would like to say that I was TOTALLY!!!!! wrong to be scared to own a pit. She is absolutely the sweetest most loving dog ever!
