What do you think about Just One Litter so far? Its Pawsome, I have been on and off with this group for a long time but the message is brillant.

Like others have already stated there is just too many reasons to just pick one.
Less mammory cancer in females not to mention there is no risk for pyomitra.
keeps the homeless animal population down
Helps curb some behavior issues

1. Yes, all Mom's pets are.

2. No. If people were smarter, I'd say leave it up to the owner. But they aren't in most cases, so I say pet quality dogs and cats should be fixed. Even with good owners, accidents happen.

3. I haven't been on long, but I love it big grin

4. The most important benefit is that it's 100% effective birth control.



5. I was originally from an AWFUL byb (almost a puppymill), and was bought by one of mom's friends, ended up selling her. Mom's dad bought me and gave me to her.

6. Mom is 90% sure I'm a purebred sheltie. I'm oversized, though, and have a collie-ish personality, so It's possible I'm a mix.

7. Two and one-half years.

Yes, as well as all other dogs in the household.

Yes, unless you're a very reputable breeder or the dog has a medical condition and couldn't be fixed. In other words, for the typical house pet- yes. Or at least most of them. It would cut down the population problem a ton.

What do you think about Just One Litter so far?
Nice group. I love for people to spread awareness about the overpopulation and why spaying/neutering is important to stop more animals from dying in shelters/on the streets/etc.

List one benefit you know for spayed/ neutered animals:
I'll list more than one: Can't have pups- helps the overpopulation problem. Prevents testicular cancer, if I'm not mistaken. I know there are plenty other medical benefits that I can't think of right now. Also can prevent males from roaming and getting into fights over females. For females- you don't have to deal with them going into heat. lol

Steele was from a newspaper ad for free pups. Nighque was from a friend who's aunt (the previous owner) was very serious about taking her to the high kill shelter where she no doubt would have been killed so I took her. The aunt's complaint was that she was too "big and hyper". Excuse my language, but no s#@&, sherlock! What did you expect with a lab?! Sweetie was from a relative who lets her dogs breed to this day (got Sweetie years and years ago) and it irks me to no end. -_-

What breed are you?
Steele is a husky/chow/pit bull mix (owner said this, if there's any pit, it's very little). Nighque is a black lab mix. Sweetie, mum's dog, is a chihuahua/poodle mix.

How long has your family owned you?
Have had Steele since 7 weeks old. So 4 years. Nighque- 3.5 years. Sweetie- 10 years.

Steele is 4 years old, Nighque is 5, Sweetie is 10.

Steele, Nighque, and Sweetie are permanent "siblings". Plenty other dogs come through our home, as I foster and they're all great friends. No other fur siblings of any other species though. =P

- One benefit could be...Spay or neuter your pets so there is not too many strays and if there are too many strays or any kind of animal then they might have to put them to sleep....and I don't want that happening to all kinds of animals and strays that need a loving home.crycry

- We do lots of rescue work, so knowing there will be less unwanted pets is benefit enough.

- The common housepet, yes, I do believe they need to be fixed. However, a responsible proven breeder breeding to better the breed should be allowed.
