 | | | | Hi All! Although we weren't offically invited--we found your group and joined anyway! Hope you don't mind. We live in Hatboro, PA--not at all far from Winnie in Lansdale (hint, hint).
We are having some training issues and would love to hear some of you Chi owners experiences. I have two other small pups too, but Pita is a Shi-Chi (Shih-Tzu/Chihuahua mix) and was the easiest puppy to train. She got everything the first time I showed her. In fact, she still does! Never had an accident and was always anxious to please. Chloe was difficult to potty train (in fact, she still has issues, not necessarily accidents), but was never aggressive or mean. Phebe has a personality all of her own--and only 13 weeks old. She growls at me, bites, runs away from me, walks away from the potty paid and pees in her own spot (yep, right in front of me), steals food from the other dogs, and finally constantly bites and pulls the other dogs hair (making them cry)
I've posted in the training forum, and did get some good advice--but it seems more geared towards bigger dogs. I need some good old Chi advice!
I'm sure MANY of the behaviors above are simply puppy behaviors, but I want to know how aggressive I should be with a 13 week old pup and what how I should be correcting the problems (ie squirt gun, voice, positive reinforcement etc).
Any advice is WELCOME as well as some play dates! | | | | |
