Hi there. I was wondering who has a shiba that is a picky eater? Tetsuya is, very much so. I am looking into different types of kibble to find something good that he likes. Right now he is fed Natural Balance Duck and Potato. Before that it was NB Adult Ultra Premium. I've had samples of Merrick and Wellness. He seems to like the Wellness. I might switch to it.

i had tatsu-kenzo on solid gold, he liked it but it wasnt doin gmuch for his coat. so i switched to innova and he eats it right up. there are times tho when i put the food in his bowl and he just stairs at me wondering where the rest of it is..because i mix kibble and raw vegies and even NB dog food, the big logs of meat, i chop it up and mix it inso he can smell the meat, and hell usually eat everything pretty fast. if you have time to do so i recomend always mxing a raw diet in with kibble, and it makes it better to digest. i found tatsu likes carrots/sweet potato/green beans/cabage or lettace. some fruits like bananas and blue berries. since i have been doing this i havent had a problem with him eatting. my other dog wont touch her food unless i mix in raw food too so she is the picky one.

Hi. Sometimes I add a few treats to his food or a bit of cooked rice and that helps. Once a week he gets Merrick canned food added to his dry kibble which he loves as well. It is just too expensive to give him canned food on a daily basis. Tetsuya also eats Innova dry kibble.

Max

I'm pretty and I- can run fast.

Unlike most Shiba's I've hear about, Max has never been picky. He'll eat anything I set down in front of him.

Jiro use to happily eat Beneiful (dry kibble), then I realized how bad it was for him. His coat really showed it and his allergies were awful. So he was switched to Authority Harvest Baked (dry kibble). Which he really seemed to like for 3 weeks, then we went on vacation, he was fine. When we got back he wouldn't eat as per usual. Then he stopped eating all together. We took him to the vet fearing the worst and everything came back fine. They said that Asian breeds just tend to have more character and suggested mixing drying and wet food, so we got some of Authority's cans of food. He's been eating fine ever since. But we've noticed his coat is still not in good shape and he itches like crazy. So we've been looking around for a new food. We're thinking about Innova. Thoughts?
