I use a litterbox in my bedroom at night & go outside to pee during the day when Mama is home. But I prefer to poo under the computer deskbig laugh
So now she went & put a piddle pad under there grrrrrthinking Josie

I have had my Chi since November 30th. She came from California where it was a good 66 degrees when I picked her up. Here in Oregon, it was 32 when we landed! Needless to say, she did not enjoy going outside, but I bought a dog door that fits in the sliding glass door track and manually put her through it (my hubby fenced in a spot right outside the doggie door). Every time I put her out, she would eagerly jump back through the door (at 2.5 pounds) unless I held my foot in front of it and told her to "go potty". Once she did, I rewarded her with a Gerber Meat Stick (or half of it) and she is now letting herself out, cold and wet or not! Perhaps it would work...? Best wishes for success!
