Django has a bobbed tail too! longer than 6 inches...it is around 7. If you look at the standard, a tail of up to 6 inches is acceptable. Some Aussie lovers have made some rude comments about his tail. Honestly it is probably my favorite characteristic...it is just so cute!
I have some pics on my page of him as a puppy and I just love his tail. So much of how a dog communicates is in their tails, and his tail helps me to know what may be going on in that doggie mind of his!

I don't keep my tail still enough for my parents to measure, but it's waaay long (probably about 17", too). There's a picture on my page that shows my whole tail. Wanna be pals?

My mother has never measured but it is a nice size for a pup with a cute little white spot at the end

I am a Kelpie/Aussie mix and my tail is what appears to be a natural bobtail, but longer than most which are cropped at birth. My tail is about 7 inches long, and it lies flat or I carry it high when very interested in something (like sniffing on a walk). There are several pictures on my dogster page with it showing. My owner likes to know how I feel, and sometimes I wag it just a little when I look at him, so he knows it's a grin. Dogs without tails have to be pretty freakin' excited and then wag thier entire butt. Nice. . .
