I can hardly write this. This is our first post with Dogster and it was supposed to be a happy one. We got Peaches at 8 weeks of age and she weighed less than a pound then. She finally grew to be a lovely 5 lb. Min Pin. Peaches started acting weird about 3 weeks ago and began having little seizures. Of course we began taking her to the vet right away. My husband and I took turns at nights staying up and holding her so she wouldn't have seizures. Some of these seizures were so bad they would shoot Peaches right out of our bed onto our floor. Finally our vet had us admit Peaches to our vet specialist hospital here in Atlanta. We got to be with her there last Friday and after that they had to drug little Peaches to a coma to keep her seizures under control. She was responding to the medicine so we held on. Little did we know that our baby had some crappy neurological affliction that couldn't be diagnosed and was fatal in 3 weeks. They haven't ruled out Peaches dog food as a possibility. We spent all we could for CT scans and spinal taps and bloodwork...and we couldn't save her!! We got her to be a companion to our 15 yr old Min Pin-Sweet Pea. Her being taken from us at such a young age feels so unfair!! She died Monday while the neurologist was trying to help her. Our pain is so great right now!!

I am so sorry for your loss. I cannot even begin to fathom what you must be going thru. I heard this saying once that really seems answer the question of why they have such a short life. "everyone is brought into this world with one mission .... to learn how to love. It takes us (humans) so many years and this is why our lives extend well beyond dogs, because dogs enter this world only knowing how to love thus they have already accomplished what everyone is seeking." My regards go out to you and your family during this time.
