|Got the following from Best Friends. Maybe someone can help this woman
relocate her colony or adopt?
Dear Best Friends Member,
We were recently contacted by Kimberley in Rosedale, New York
regarding a small colony of feral cats that she cares for. There are
10 cats, most have been spayed and/or neutered.
Though feral cats are best left on their home turf, there are some
situations where the cats are in danger of being harmed by
someone who does not want them there. This is one of those
situations. Kimberley is constantly screamed at to remove the cats
although it was the folks in the area that contributed to this by
dumping their cats. There is also gang activity in the area some
of which have told Kimberley that they are going to poison the cats.
Kimberley often finds broken beer bottles in the cats eating
area which has also caused some of the cats to sustain injuries to
Kimberley is reaching out to our Members for help with trapping,
finding a safe relocation spot & altering the few that remain
intact. I have some great resources on successful relocation of feral
cats that I would be happy to share if needed.
You can also visit the website of Alley Cat Allies,
http://www.alleycat.org. Alley Cat Allies is a national organization
to promoting Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR) for the humane management of
feral cat populations.
Another excellent resource is the Feral Cat Coalition:
If you or someone you know can help, please contact Kimberley directly
