pound puppies and dog aggression

Hello other rescued Shadows,
Sometimes when I am around another male dog who is about the same size as me, I get really aggressive and mean. I growl, and I put my hackles up, and sometimes I even lunge and try to bite the other dog.

My parents think this is because I was hurt by a dog at the shelter before they rescued me. Has anyone else experienced this?

It could also be because I have some chow chow in me too smile
