My mom just saw "Miss Potter" A movie about Beatrix Potter, and she really liked it alot. She thinks it was very inspiring (especially to womenses) anyone else seen any inspiring movies??????
OMD Mom LOVES Beatrix Potter but she hasn't seen the movie yet. She has a collection of Potter's books & always includes one with baby shower gifts. The new movie "the curse of the golden flower" (at theatre's now) is a visual overload of chinese imperial art.
Rene Zellwegger is totally perfect in this movie!!! puffy face and all - just makes her better! you've gotta see it - my mom cried at the very beginning when it showed her going to the publisher to try to sell her work - very emotional scene for artists! and the scenery is so absolutely beautiful.
::-
My mom was wondering about the curse of the golden flower. She's gonna go and check it out - wonder if there was ancient chinese pottery shown in it or even modern chinese pottery -likes looken at that stuff!
Ok...My mom saw another movie... Pan's labrynth... She said it was really good and intense and scarey and creepy and beautiful scenery and leaves you wondering at the end. anyone else seen it?
MyMum's absolutely favouritest book about artists is "Memory and Dream" by Charles deLint. It's allabout an artist whose paintings come to life. MyMum says it felt as if da author wroted about her.
Oooo mom saw Pan's Labyrinth too! They had cool characters, except a friend told her the mean captain reminded them of her dad (my grandpa!) how rude! Mom won a bet with dad so he has to see 3 movies of mom's choice & she is taking him to Bridge to Tarabithia next week. I will check out that book daMoose.
Ratty- me & mom LOVE chinese pottery too. I eat & drink out of it. You, Otto & Kitty mama should get some cool chinese plates & bowls too.
