I think he's just sassin' ya. You may need to show him who's boss by grabbing him by the scruffs of the neck and shaking him a bit while giving him some firm language immediately after he nips at you. You might find that when you do this he will roll over and squirm around as if he's having a temper tantrum. If he does this just tie him up or crate him while you run another dog, even some one else's dog will do the trick. This will make him jealous and more willing to please you the next time out on the course. You could also start him on NILF (nothing in life for free). Research the internet for info on NILF. My wife had the same problem with Chica. We did just what I told you here and she no longer has any problems. He is only 2 years also so you have to expect some naughty behavior just like you would from a teenage human. Have patience, be the boss, and have fun!

dog I think you should push his head down, firmly but gently, with the palm of your hand everytime it happens. in the wild, wolf packs use this gesture as body language for "I am the boss of you." and in all of the domestic dogs I know, it works. If she tries to fight by wiggling her head around and resisting from letting you push her head down, give her a pop on the behind with a rolled-up newspaper so it will give a loud, authority-ish sound without really hurting her. continue this persistently and patiently, and it should work well! good luck! blue dog
