Ok since this is a new group and not much is going on yet, Ill get the ball rolling. Please post your herding experiences. If you have other doggie family include all of themsmile

Me(Ore0)
I am a rescue dog but came to my forever home when I was 11 months old. When I was two we went to a herding clinic and I was the FASTEST dog there. My owners mom took me to my first trial soon afterwards and with no training we got our ASCA started sheep title. My owner saw other kids trialing and got rather jelous but I was too wild so she trialed another dog named River who is my doggie brothers grandpa. After only one trial with him she took me on. We trialed in the Junior program a lot and won most of the time (even if I did steal a peace of wool every once in a while). She took on all of my training and at 8 years old I finished my ASCA Working Trial Championship. She was only 16 and one of 5 juniors ever to finish a WTCH. Pretty unlikely team if you ask me (a rescue and a kid) I also have my Ranch Trial dog titles on Cattle and sheep. One problem is though I often like to herd things that shouldnt be such a little kids so I have to be watched really carefully around them. I even tried to herd my owners daddy once (man that was a mistake)

Cruz: He is just the good ol man and it was either his way or the highway so he never trialed.

Desi: My owner finished all her started titles (cattle, ducks, adn sheep) although she never really was good at it. People told my owner it was her handling that finished the cattle title (good for her, not so good for Desi)

Rainie: Rainie is a nice girl. She is the dog that my owner uses now in Junior stock and they do really well. She has her Advanced Sheep and Duck title and open cattle but needs some more confidence before she goes for her ATDc. She has her RTDc too.

Ty: Ty is the youngest (only two) he got all his started titles in August of this year and is REALLY good. He even won the large cattle class one day. He had 7 stock runs in one weekend and Q'd in all of them. The odd one was on Friday at the Ranch Trial (more like practical ranch work) where he Q'd and placed 3rd. He was the youngest one there. At Nationals he Q'd in Stock and obedience too which Qualified him for Most Versatile aussie and he place 28th out of over 60. Its hard to place too high with all started classes.

We all do/have done obedience and conformation too and Cruz and Desi are Ch's, Rainie is an Altered Ch, I only need one major to finish my A-CH, and Ty has 11pts/2mjrs.
