Mommy and I would like to know how all of you other ella's out there got your names. We'd also like to know of any other quirky things about your name.

* My name: When my mommy met me, my name was "Alley." The name "ella" just came to her upon meeting me. She started calling me ella even before she found out that I was going to be hers!

**Quirks about my name: My name is NEVER capitalized. It's always to be spelt with a lower case e.

How I got my name is rather interesting. Mommy rescued me off the streets and loves the artist/writer Edward Gorey. She had read "The Sopping Thursday" which is a little illustrated story about a dog who saves a baby (who is laying in an umbrella) from drowning in a flooded street. The umbrella belonged to his owner, and the dog became obsessed with finding it because he/she wanted to "succeed". I reminded mommy of this dog, and she decided to pull my name from the story "The Sopping Thursday" by giving me a name somehow attached to the umbrella. Thus, you have Ella. Also, my mom found me on a Thursday, and it was raining outside that day. There are various other strange coincidences to that story that are relevant to our situation. But that's the short (or rather long) of it!!!
