Have any of you thought about going into an activitiy like obedience, agility and/or fly ball? My Mom took me to puppy school where I learnt some basic obedience - sit, down, stay, come etc. My Mom said that we are going to do more obedience because it is very important for every dog to know - it could even safe your life! There are even trials where you can go to compete and you don't have to have registration papers. My Mom also said we will try agility. In agility you learn to go through tunnels, around weave poles, walk on a beam etc. I went through a tunnel in puppy school and was it fun!!! I am looking forward to this. Fly ball is like a relay race where you jump over jumps and get a tennis ball and jump back. I really like tennis balls so I am looking forward to this too! I am really looking forward to trying all these things! Does this interest any of you???

I started this thread awhile back and I thought it was time for an update. I have now started a intro course to agility. I had to wait until now because my Mommy didn't want me jumping until I finished growing and something called my growth plates (whatever that is) had closed. I am learning so many different obstacles and it is so much fun! I walk on something called the "dog walk" which is like a beam with ramps going up. I jump through a tire, over a bar jump and over a high jump. I also walk on all sorts of different things like last week it was a box that was made up of all these rolls. When you walked on it the rolls would move but I wasn't scared. My biggest accomplishment was to climb the A Frame. It is two pieces of wood put together like a big A. The wood is about 3 ft wide and there are rungs to climb on. The top of the frame was about 5 ft tall. I climbed to the top and down the other. It was so much fun! snoopysnoopy

I just got my first Affenpinscher puppy. I'm new to the breed, but want to start Rosalie in some activities, like the ones you mentioned above. I already think she's going to make a great watchdog, she barks at everything! lol I would love to do agility with her and teach her a few tricks.

hi jelly - how is the agility going? I had thought about that for T-Bone as well. Right now - he needs a little more discipline training as he can be quite defiant. Let us know how its going!

I loved doing agility stuff when mom would take me to my obedience classes, but I don't go anymore. I saw where you did the A-frame for the first time back in January. Those are fun as are the tunnel and the chute! My mommy didn't think I'd do the shoot because I'm a scardy-cat, but I would just run right through it!

I hope you are having as much fun as I did!
