Males Peeing on Belly Question

Hi. I don't know if this is something male Iggies grow out of. Rufus is 9 months old and usually lifts his leg at the park when he pees but most of the time- especially when he's at home- he squats down to pee. He usually ends up going all over his front legs and on his chest. Is this something that male Iggies grow out of? I hate resorting to using wet wipes or towels to clean him off all the time but I want to keep my furniture from smelling too fowl. Does anyone share this experience and can offer advice or what to expect?

My mom uses a belly band on me when I am inside. It prevents me from peeing on anything. By the way, my brother Bugsy is 6 years old. He still pees on his front legs when he is outside.

Hello, I TOTALLY FEEL FOR YOU!!!! My boy pee'd on his front legs and belly for a looooong time. He's five now and on windy days, his loose fire hose can still shoot in the wrong direction. As A puppy, he once, missed his legs and his chest and pee'd on my legs3 feet away!!! Anyway, I would be cautious about using wet-wipes becaue he'll probably lick his legs afterwards and maybe get sick. I'm sure someone else here can shed light on that possibility but dogs will lick anything wet or scented that is on their skin/fur. Essentially, I don't think there is much you can do. I just hold my guy over the sink or tub and rinse him off when he does pee on himself. I'd rather have a clean moist dog running around and on my furniture than a pee-smelling dog. My guy has mostly outgrown this problem. I think your guy (like my little guy) are just wobbly on their legs a little longer than normal or get shakey when there is some wind. He'll probably grow out of it....in a year or so.

Luigi (aka pee foot) is 10 and still occasionally pees on his front paw.Usually when the weather is bad and he is trying to hurry up. When he does I just take him to the sink and rinse him off.

HahAAAAA it is so nice to know I am not the only crazy dog in the world! I pee all over my chest and front legs all the time and then I come inside and lie on the couch and make it all stinky.
