	Were you looking for a mutt in particular? Or did it just sort of happen? We knew we wanted a rescued dog, breed was never really a concern. I actually wanted a full grown dog, but just wasn't happy with the ones we were finding. Then we got in touch with the woman who rescued Reina's mommy from the street. It was pretty much love at first sight for us.

	My mom & dad saw me walking in the ditch along the highway and they were afraid I would get hurt. So they stopped and offered me some water. I was very scared, but mom kept talking to me. When I got close enough she started petting me, which felt very good. Then mommy picked me up and they took me home with them. I was very scared but mom was very gentle with me. I was very dirty, so mom gave me a bath and trimmed my hair, which made me feel better. No one ever claimed me so mom kept me. I'm glad too, life was sure rough up to that point.

	Some folks rescued a couple of dogs and one of them turned out to be pregnant. So when the pups were old enough to be adopted we got one to give to our grandchildren. It's been a good match.

	I was in a "kill shelter" until my humans came and rescued me. I had been there a long time. It seemed like no one wanted me. I was so glad when my humans came in to meet me and then decided to take me home to be with them forever. Life is good!

	My husband used to be a police officer and one day another officer had gone by a place that had free puppies and picked one out. But by the end of the day he decided he was afraid to take it home to his wife. He said he was going to drive out in the country and turn it loose. (Such a dork!) My husband said no don't do that, that he would take the puppy. (My hubby is so wonderful!) Anyway, when he brought the puppy home we all fell in love with him and that is how we got Zeus.

	I was found on the street. I was most likely abandoned. I am happy now though!

	I think I was just a stray, and I was brought in to the humane society, then taken by a family with another black lab named Princess. Then they had a baby, and had to give me away, so now I live with a new family, and they're the best!

	My family had recently lost their beloved Sparky (a rescue) & their hearts were broken. They wanted to rescue another dog who needed a home. Mom was looking on Petfinder & saw me. My good looks & photogenic face charmed the whole family, so they came to get me! Of course, they all fell in love with me, so here I am, furever home at last!

Niso

So ugly I'm- cute!

	Niso jumped through our fence as a very scrawny little puppy the day after our sweet Chance was hit and killed by a car. He's my third mutt. My parents and brother all have fancy schmancy purebreds, but I'm a dedicated mutt lover!

	Laertese was rescued from a kill shelter by a rescue group. We adopted him from them after searching for a long time for a dog that Hermia (RIP) would like. I brought home Kendra when I was working at an SPCA and the manager would not accept her because she was missing hair. We tried to find her a home but she was not very friendly at the time. We like to take the dogs no one else wants.
