I'm beginning this thread to remind us all who we are fighting for. President Isabel's Animal Abuse Commission is rallying for Bugsy. Please join her group and help make animal abuse a felony in all 50 states!

The Arizona Humane Society and Silent Witness are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest or indictment in what could be another disturbing case of animal abuse. The incident involves a young dog found on April 28 morning after being stolen from his yard and returned severely mutilated, but alive.
"Bugsy," a 6-month-old, male pit bull, went missing from his gated yard on April 26 around the 40000 block of North Seventh Street near Cave Creek. On the morning of April 28, Bugsy was returned to the yard with severe, apparently human-made lacerations from shoulder to shoulder. His family filed a report with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office and took their beloved pet to their veterinarian for examination, but decided to surrender him to the AHS to determine the best possible course of action for the mutilated pup.
Bugsy was examined by AHS veterinarians who indicated that the lacerations were so sharp and so clean that they appear to have been made with a sharp instrument such as a knife or a razor. The trauma he sustained due to the lacerations was so severe that his skin was complexly removed from shoulder to shoulder and all of his muscles were exposed. Bugsy also had another, smaller laceration in his neck. According to AHS veterinarians, it is not likely that the injuries were caused by another animal.
Sadly, due to the extent and severity of his injuries, Busgy had to be humanely euthanized to end his suffering.
"This is one of the most shocking and horrific cases of mutilation we have seen." said AHS President and Chief Executive Officer Cheryl Naumann. "If, in fact, Bugsy's injuries were caused by a human, the perpetrator needs to be held accountable for the horrible suffering he caused both the dog and his family. Furthermore, he or she could pose a serious threat to other animals or people in our community."
