GROOMING: has anyone developed their look yet?

Has anyone out there got their look down?

Magoo and me are still working on mine. First I had terrible, stringy, wiry black puppy hair...Magoo said it looked like pubic hair (horrors!) and had it shaved off to a short schnauzer cut.

I looked TERRIBLE! No offense schnauzers. With the 'stache I looked like Wilfred Brimley. What girl wants that?!

Then I had the long mustache cut off and I didn't look too bad, albeit pretty my coat was pretty short (and it was winter!).

We tried letting it grow out a bit but I have spots of poodle hair and spots of schnauzer and spots that are straight. I got very tangled. We're trying it again, the growing out part, with comb outs everyday.

Next grooming appointment (and we've got a master groomer) is in the middle of May. We like our tail and face long. The long hair on my legs looks good, but I'm not fond of having it combed.

Would I look stupid with a short haired body and some length on my face and tail?

Any suggestions are welcome. Feel free to direct me or post photos.

My hair is very curly so I think I look best with the hair on my body trimmed short. I also like my beard...my grandma shaved it off once and I looked terrible!!

I look very dignified shaved down with a beard and eyebrows. But I do like a nice thick coat in the winter.

We just got Ace, and he is currently cut short, sleek, and tidy and in a schnauzer-type of style. Working on growing out a schnauzer beard. His hair is soft and slightly wavy, but not poodly at all. I prefer dogs to look tidy and not too scruffy/scraggly looking. Ace's back is cut short and looks very shiny and sleek, like a seal. I love it.

Everyone calls me a scruffy doodle because I have fine thin hair that just sticks out in all directions when it's long. I didn't get any of the poodle curl. It sooo thin, I look slimed whenever I play with my friends.

My dad wanted to see me without a beard, and boy did I look funny with that long pointy nose . My last cut shaved me down like a schnauzer because the vet had to shave a patch on my back after a bully bit me. And now I'm lookin' kinda good. The schnauzer doo cleaned me up with long hair on the legs and my fluff on the head (my boy likes to give me mohawks).
