I'm doing really well.

Strange enough though, the vet said to take Benadryl when I start having allergies. My mom didn't notice any allergies on me though until I was bright red. It didn't start off slowly, it just was bad from the start. shrug So my mom doesn't really have any idea how to prevent this from happening again.

take benedryl? Did they give you liquid? or tablets? Tell you how much to take? Benedryl is scarey to my mommy it is...she afraid of givin too much and knockin us out with it. I had to take it for a bit when I was smaller but haven't taken it in years. Actually think something where we used to walk kicked it off and for a while during spring mommy gave me a little lick of benedryl every other day per the vets instructions. But what ever it was hasn't affected me for a long time relieved

Molly takes "Aller-chlor" it's chlorpheniramine maleate 4 mg tablets - and she get's 1/2 a tablet. She can take it twice or even three times a day if it's really bad. Mom orders it online - and it's pretty cheap. No prescription required either. Molly weighs 5 lbs - so that will give you a pretty good idea how much you can give them.
If you use the liquid kind, you can look up online how much to give depending on body weight.

Mom gives me and Tucker a whole tablet like on the 4th of July when she knows we are going to get stressed out. It helps and does make us a little sleepy.

Thanks for that info!!

My mom bought ours at Walgreens. It was the Walgreen's brand of Benadryl, since we can't find the real Benadryl brand sold anywhere here. The vet said one teaspoon, I'm 9 1/2 lbs. I was vomiting afterwards, but I'm not sure if it was due to the medicine or my being I'll.shrug The vet said just take it with food, but I did..shrugTink takes Benadryl with no problems to her stomach. Just be careful. Oh, and be careful with some off-brand Benadryl, they contain other ingredients that we don't need.

Yeah that's why we buy it online - it just has that one ingrediant. And that's the one the vet said to use.

Mom gave Buster Benadryl, for something, she can't remember what, the vet said 25mg would be okay (he weighs 35 lbs)!
Mom thought it would knock him out, nope, not at all. The vet said Mom could give him 50mg and he'd be okay, dogs metabolize it differently, so she said thinking
Mom would be Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....

Yep, that's what we were told too. It does make us a little sleepy and calmer too. That's why we get it if the fireworks are going to go off.
Keeps us from getting all stressed out - well me anyway.

Jake used to get benedryl because he had such bad allergies. It did calm him down some too.
