Hi there, I still look in occasionally. wink

We're buried in snow here. Spring feels a looong way away when you're digging out from foot after foot of snow. Can't wait to see the grass again! Tyson on the other hand thinks the snow is fab and loves romping and zooming around like a goof. Cold weather makes him so frisky! Bonnie taught him her favorite game, snow digging. lol

How are your pups doing? And why no new pics! I want to see Kai all grown up! big grin

Hi Tyson,
Glad to hear from you! Mika and Kai are doing great. We went to the vet yesterday and aside from a clogged tear duct in Mika's right eye, they are absolutely healthy. They behaved like angels except
we had to trick Kai twice, once in to the room to have his nails cut,and once for his heartworm test.He wouldn't go anywhere for the staff where he couldn't see Mommy. As we have long suspected he's a Momma's boy. Heartworm isn't a big thing here yet but,I dont want to take the chance. For as small of a community as we are our shelter has been taking dogs from puppymill seizures in other states, kinda ironic since PA is the second largest puppymill producer in the country.
I'm not against helping, just wish we could clean-up our own mess first.
Sorry to hear about all of your snow, here it's the mud. The furkids can't come in from a potty trip without making a mess of the whole first floor.New pics will be coming as soon as I figure out this Windows7 thing.Take Care and keep in touch! Mika,Kai&Mommy (Pam)

AH hi everybody!! We've been incredibly busy struggling with our lives, but this past week everything fell into place and life is amazing!! It's rainy and soggy here in northern California. BUT I am pleased to announce that I have two new family members! Other Tyson, you'll really appreciate this: I have a herding breed puppy now too! Indigo is a Malanois pup (5 months) who we rescued off of Craig's List. She is ADORABLE, but man what a handful and completely different than an Akita pup. I'm excited to work with her though! It is fun to have a dog with drive again smile

I also have Oliver, who is a young Corgi, and doesn't listen to me at all. We are going to change that though.

I'm really excited for this spring. My life has been refreshed it feels like and I have so much work to do, but it's going to be fun!

WOW I'm so jealous! but excited for you. You know that's my dream dog, a mal. wink Congrats on the new additions! We'll expect updates on how everyone is doing together and how training the little monster goes.

Glad to here things are going well for you. smile

Yes I know smile She's crossed with Plott Hound, but the only affect it seems to have on her is that she's brindle. Everything else is Mal. She and Tyson are pretty much inseparable, her mimiking his every move and he gladly giving her foot prints to follow in! I'll get pictures up as soon as I can, probably some video too! My FaceBook got hacked so I lost most of my stuff on there frown ...But new camera, new pup, new pictures!!

It's funny how quickly she became MY dog, and how much she and Tyson just mashed together as if they were litter mates. He doesn't even resource guard against her. On the contrary, he's shown her how and now she guards against everybody! She's like my practice pup, as I have almost NO experience with shepherd breed puppies, before I look into getting a dog I can compete in Schutzhund (my dreeeaaam!) with.

How is little Bonnie doing?

Unless you're positive she's crossed with a hound, she could be a Dutch Shepherd. They look almost exactly like a Mal and have a similar character, but brindle. Can't wait to see pics and stuff! I bet she's just a little terror. wink

Bonkers is fantastic. We're getting serious about the agility training. She's mastered the teeter and is learning weave poles right now. She's going to be stinkin fast! I'm crazy about her. She also just turned one year old on Feb 24. Growing up so fast! Her herding training starts as soon as the weather improves, too much snow at the moment. We're getting ducks so we can practice herding at home, and hopefully I'll be buying some sheep this summer. Lots of projects! Bonnie is an absolute little nut, she is so quirky and just plain weird with her little border collie idiosyncrasies... She's my little crack dog. lol. But she is SO much fun laugh out loud

We,re so glad to hear that everyone so far is well, happy and seems to be enjoying life. Here in western PA all we have is mud and more mud!!
We're hoping for a trip to Aunt 'Leens soon, but have to stop blowing our coats first. Kai and Mom wouldn't mind a new pup,but Mika sometimes acts like she'd like to return Kai. She loves him and plays very well with him, however sharing Mom and Dad especially Dad is sometimes a problem and 2 Akita's on a king-sized bed is at least one too many. Hopefully, even with being busy and it sounds like we all have our hands full,we'll manage to keep in touch.Good luck with the training and the new pups. Take Care, Mika,Kai&Pam

Oh my dog Tyson, I looked up Dutch Shepherds and WOW, the short coat brindle ones are IDENTICAL. That's exciting!! I really didn't want a hound cross. So she may have GSD in her because that's what the trippy hippy folk we got her from were convinced of, but they also said the was GSD/Aussie.......which from the get-go was blatantly wrong. Either way I am so excited! And of course she's a monster smile But she's MY monster!

Bonnie is a year old already? Whaaa...? Hold on just a second I'm checking your YouTube...AAAAAAAAA! She is! Ahaha and the birthday video was SO beautiful (and of course contained copious amounts of adorable that I almost ODed on) look at that little girl! She is getting so grown up! Ha and her dashing through the snow is just flat out priceless. Well happy late birthday Bonnie! She looks like she's doing great with her Agility training too. I can't wait until our weather clears up enough to get working on things too. Right now I have a house with five dogs in it that haven't been for a walk in over a week. I'm surprised I haven't been killed in my sleep! I'll get pictures up soon don't you worry.

Awe Kai I understand Akita jealousy! That sounds like a handful though, but anything to get out of the mud! Your pups are blowing coat right now? My Ty never really got a full winter coat in, and then the past three months have been so stressful with our living situation he kinda stress-shedded it all out in increments. Do you use a Furminator or any of those fancy awesome brush tools?
