I will start because my story is boring and predictable. I am spoiled. I came from a breeder and I have never had a hard day in my life.cloud 9
I got papers. To prove my lineage.big laugh

My actual name is (get this, ready?)

Moonstones Jacob Teesdale!

MOONSTONE!!!!!big grin

Mooney.big laugh

No. Really, my Mom was feeling real sad when Ben died and went on the internet looking for breeders and found my breeder that way.
I came home 3 weeks after Ben passed. They wasted no time.

And an interesting note, I was named after the town I was born in. St Jacobs, Ontario. My actual name is Jacob...get it?wink

OK So I an the "Ben dog" Jake barked about.
In 1994, Moms boss had a secretary who had 2 Goldens. They had pups and that is where I came from. My mom always loved Goldens. My moms name was Maddy and my dads name was Toby.
We are not sure if the pups came by accident, or on purpose as both dogs were "fixed" after me and my litter mates were born.
I was the second born pup and the one with the biggest head and attitude. I was mumbling and growling at everyone - even as a baby.
I decided on the day that Mom and Grandpa came to see the pups, that I wanted to pick Mommy as my Mommy. She just looked cool. So when me and the pups were all out on the floor and Mom was sitting on the floor with the boy (then, only 3) deciding on a puppy and playing with us all, I went behind her and hid in the back of her coat and mumbled and snorted at her.cloud 9 The whole time, I did not come out from her coat!big laugh

Mommy decided right then and there that she wanted me....she said "I love this dog and I want HIM"cloud 9

From that day on Mommy and me were inseparable. I loved my Mommy. And protected her fiercely.

I lived until 2005 when I died from cancer.
I passed, surrounded by my family and never knowing a sad or "wanting" day in my life.

Thank you, Mom and Dad!cloud 9

My story is an old one on Dogster. But a nice story none the less.

I am a Dogster success story. big grin

At 7 months old, I was rescued from a backyard hell home ( my 3rd home at 7 months old!!!!)
My Angel foster Mommy found me tied to a tree on a short leash with up teen other dogs.
She recognized me from my first Mommy. As they lived in the same apt. She remembered that my name was Teddy.
She spoke to the neighbor who had us all out there on leashes, tied to trees and asked why.
It seemed as if lost dogs just kind of were brought to this house and the lady did all she could to help us but there were too many of us. And so eventually the dogs ended up outside, tied to trees with food bowls to keep us alive.
Angela found out that the backyard hell lady had called the shelter and they were refusing to take us dogs because they were full - and all of us were going to be put down the next day!frown

She said not this pup.....and took me (#1 because she remembered me- and #2 because I was the youngest pup) to her apartment where I lived for a month or 2 with her and Bruce and their mini Schnauzer "Mini"cheer - Mini was cool!cheer
She posted me on Dogster, and Dogster made me Dog Of The Week. And that is where my Mommy (and Jake) saw me. I was looking for a new home. I was Dog of the week, and I had a SAD pic of me posted where I was wearing reindeer antlers on my head.big laugh Mommy saw that pic and fell in love with me. She saw that pic on Friday and stared at me all weekend before showing my pic to Daddy on Sunday. He said to Mom, "So? Tell them we are willing to adopt him, then" And, the rest is history.
I came to live with Jake and family on November 4th 2006!!!!! And have lived a happy life ever since!
An interesting thing to note.... My parents and my foster parents EACH had to drive 4 hours each way for the "Teddy exchange" I was born in NY- USA and now live in Ont, Canada.......happy dance

Canada is cool eh?happy dance

My Story big grin

Mum had lost her German Shepherd, "Tasman" (May 1998), and wanted to get another dog, but not straight away as she was doing a Computer course, and wanted to be able to be around for a new pup in the home.

Anyway, it got be Christmas time, 1998, and still no pup. Mum saw an ad in the paper for Lab X Golden Retriever's and thought this would be a nice mix of dog. She originally wanted either a Labrador, or a Golden Retriever, but couldn't make her mind up confused
So she rang the Pet Shop, and had her name put down on a list for a girl, when some pups would be coming in.

In early January 1999, they rang and said that in 4 weeks time, some pups would be arrivingsnoopy

So, on 4th February, (2 days before mum's Birthday) she drove to the Pet Shop to collect me. When she arrived, a lady had just taken the 1st girl pup, and I was the only 1 left.
So that is how I came to live with the best Mum in the world hug and be able to do sooo many wonderful things in my 11 years, so far cloud 9

My Story hamster dance

Mum had wanted to get a companion dog for Jade, but waited till she was settled in her new home (1 year).

Nicholas was getting older, (14), and mum didn't want Jade to fret when he went to Rainbow Bridge. She was at an Obedience Trial and saw this Golden Retriever that was a nice size, friendly and carried stuffies in her mouth.
At the time mum didn't know who owned the dog (Shelby), but when the owner returned, mum recognised the owner shock she knew they had a Border Collie, but not a Golden Retriever.

So mum asked if they were going to Breed with her, and they said "Yes".
Mum said to put her name down, and kept in contact with them from the time they chose my dad, (Rocky) to when I came to my Furrever home smile

8 weeks ater being born, I left for my new home, on Christmas Eve, 2005.

I am 'Jade's' Best Fur Friend, which is what mum wanted, and I have a wonderful home, and a mum who loves me sooooo much cloud 9

Ooops we forgot to say that our Registered name's are :

MIMI

"Ashamber Field of Dreams" way to go

and I got this name because mum was allowed to choose the Movie Theme name. She is a big Kevin Costner fan, and wanted 'Dances With Wolves', but thought that was more fitting for a boy dog, so she went with 'Field of Dreams' and 'Dragonfly', if the 1st name was not selected by the Victorian Canine Association. wave

JADE

My Registered name is 'Echuca Jade' big grin This is because I am not a 'Pure Bred' dog, or what is known here as an 'Associate' Breed. I don't have a Breeders Prefix, like Mimi has (Ashamber) confused

Anyway, mum found out that I came from a Rural Country Town in Victoria called ECHUCA. This used to be a town, where in the 'old days' the Paddle Steamers were a big part of transportation along theMuray River. way to go
