Here is what I posted in the forums:

I just got back. Loved it! It did seem like a "filler" though, with so much room for comedy in the middle and the end obviously being the only important part ( to the movie series)

I wish Charlie and Bill were in it.
I wish they battled with the death eaters in the end.
All Slughorn scenes were great!
I wish Dobby was in it.
I wish they Dumbledore didn't have so many weird comments in the beginning.
I wish they cut out the muggle scene in the beginning.
Loved all Luna scenes, but I wish there was more of her and Neville!
Thought it was kind of funny how both the love potion and liquid luck make the "victim" act drunk
Bellatrix continues to impress!
Loved the wand salut hug

I really enjoyed it overall! I'm just nitpicking really!

New for this group big grin

I cried at the endbig laugh I knew it was coming but I am just such a mess in movies! I really didn't like all the Ginny/Harry scenes but it could be that I don't LOVE the actress playing Ginny. I thought Lavender Brown was great, as was Slughorn big grin The most upsetting was the lack of Charlie and Bill ( or have they been in any of the movies?) And the battle with the death eaters...it is really emotional when they take down Mcgonnagal ( sp?) and fight Hagrid and I thought set the scene well for the seventh. But oh well!

Thanks Jasmine. That is very disappointing.. I liked their roles in the last movies as the whole Weasley fam takes on evil.

Awww..... I just got back from the theater. Definitely my favorite potter film to date. It had been awhile since I read the sixth (I tried re-reading it recently, realized that I had already forgotten some of the important details from the fifth, and decided to just start the entire series over. I'm in GoF now.) so I didn't necessarily get hung up on too many details.

I actually really enjoyed laughing at parts of the film (Harry with Liquid Luck was really funny, plus Hagrid and Slughorn...) and thought that the love triangle was actually quite cute.

And I JUMPED when the first inferi came out of the water. BOL BOL Don't you hate it when you jump a mile but your friend next to you retains complete composure?? red facebig grin

The only part that I thought "Heeeeeeeeey...." about was when Snape goes to kill Dumbledore and he doesn't even hesitate after the first "Please". Sigh.

I thought the wand salute was beautiful. And I never realized until just now just how really, truly wonderful a family the Weasleys are. I want to know them!!!

Buddy, you talk about the DEs bringing down McGonagal (bol I don't think I spelled that right either...) and fighting Hagrid, but you're just talking about the book, not the movie, right?

My daddy said it sucks that Harry falls in love with Ginny and will eventually marry her because they didn't pick a "hot" actress to play her. He keeps asking where the Asian chick isbig laughbig laughbig laughbig laugh

I know Jasmine I love the Weasleys!! And I didn't jump at the inferni because I was covering my eyesbig laughbig laugh Heart of a lion over herebig laugh

Yes I was talking about the book, and the fact that it wasn't in the movie ( battle scene)

I forgot to mention that I thought the scene at Snapes house was brilliant!

laugh out loud My friends and I were commenting about the same thing Sammy laugh out loud I think the actress playing Ginny does it well, but I understood that Ginny was all of a sudden GORGEOUS after pubertybig laugh and she just disappointed a little. It's funny that she's taller than Harry laugh out loud ( staircase scene anyone?)

quick question: Was Dumbledore supposed to be on his knees for the tower scene? I know that doesn't really work logically ( to fall off afterwards) but that is how I pictured it and part of what made it so sad for me.

Yeah, I thought Dumbledore was still struggling with the effects of what he had drunk and was struggling to stand. thinking But in the movie, it's like he was same ol' Dumbledore, strong enough to take on little ol' Draco Malfoy.

I think Emma Watson is more gorgeous than the actress who plays Ginny, but she's no wallflower either. I did, however, notice that Ginny is not... erm... shapely. She's still a little flat. red face shh I think she's a cute girl, though. I always thought of Ginny as a bit of a girly-girl but a tough girly-girl... the sort of girl that is raised with 6 brothers!! So the movies give enough toughness and not enough girly-girl, in my opinion. In the movies they have her as still a bit shy and awkward, but from the books I thought she was supposed to be really self-confident and very sure of who she was.

Ok, Buddy, I get ya now about McG and Hagrid. When I saw Bella light Hagrid's house on fire I remembered that, in the books, Fang was in there and started to yelp, so of course in the movie I started to get all worried like "Why is no one going to go get Fang??? Where's Hagrid???" but then I realized they left out that little detail.

Yeah it's funny because Hermione turned out gorgeous, which the books didn't describe. And Ginny was kind of the opposite. But I'm glad they stuck with the actors instead of trying to follow the books.

I agree about the confidence thing...thinking I think they should have dolled her up a bit and made her more of a "catch." I saw pictures of her at an awards show or something and she looked amazing.

I miss Nevillefrown I hope he has a bigger role in the seventh. With Luna. I love those two!

My favorite line of the movie was when Slughorn spills his drink on Hermione and cool as a cucumber says "whoops, hands on deck Granger" without even turning his head big laughbig laugh
