Radar had an upset stomach, that started yesterday. I made him chicken and rice. He still couldn't hold that down. He is also burping faily often.

He still holds his tail over his back, and wags his tail. Other than the upset tummy, he doesn't act too sick except he does not run around all day as usual.

His vet said he probably got into something outside. We never let him run off from his leash. When we see him go to something and start to sniff, we always take him away until we can see what caught his eye. The vet also said I can give some pepto bismol. If he isn't better by tomorrow, I have to bring him to his best friend Mr. Vet.

He loves the chicken & rice, plus tonight I tried a scrambled egg. That he didn't like. Thus I mixed the egg with the chicken and rice, have him a tablespoon of the mix (don't want to over feed) Went to his dish after he was done, only to find he ate everything but the egg. lol

Keeping my fingers crossed that the little guy gets better fast.

thinking Hum wonder what it could be. I know if Iget nervous about something I will get an upset tummy. Mom gave me some pepto and it worked. She does that for BayLee too. Our sister Muffin was sick last week and threw up on mom's floor. She wasn't playing like she does either. Mom thought it might be the stupid weather we have been getting here in Pa. One day it is freezing rain and the next day it is snow then sunshine. Wish it would make up our mind how to dress lol! laugh out loud We gave her some of that pink stuff and it helped. Sometimes us little ones just pick up a flu bug just like our parents do I guess. We are thinking bout you Radar and hoping you are feeling better soon. The weather will be getting better soon and we all will be able to go out to play. Take some of that pink stuff and lay down and bet you will be ok. Us girls will keep our toes crossed for you little friend.hug

Thank you ladies for the well wishes. As mommy said, I didn't like the eggs yuck. I have kept down the other stuff since 6:30 pm and it is now 1:15 am. I hope it stays down.

Mommy gave me a 1/4 tablet of pepto crushed with a little water at 5:30 and again at 9:30. Maybe thats why, I didn't get an upset stomach.

I did start to shack a little, mommy thinks its because I am weak. from not eating.

Again thank you friends

EDIT: how much pepto do you give your papillon? Radar weights 10 lbs.

I give Daisy pepto to when her tummy gets upset. I give her less then 1/2 ml of the pink stuff. Just a tiny amount she is 9 pounds. It always works. The next morning she is all better. Hope you get better soon.

waveI am glad that your pepto is working. I didn't give her that much . I gave BayLee a dropper full. It is a little dropper . I think if you use the child's dose and maybe cut it in half it would be ok. There are a lot of pups getting upset somach's right now. I have a shephard friend that is sick right now too. With all the scares about this peanut butter stuff I am leary of giving anything to my pups. I hope it is just the change of weather. We don't  stay out too long when it is cold out. Today it is really cold out like below zero chill factor so mom watched us and brought us in right away. It is too cold.Keep warm and just a lot of rest and clean water . If he seems like he is getting worse I would take him toa vet to get checked out. Mom is going to take BayLee soon if her cough don't go away. She is really fat and has all these fat spots on her body and the vet told mom that is what it is. Too close to her neck too. We are watching her too. Hope Our friend Radar is feeling a little better. Does he have the scoots. That pepto will help that for sure too. I gave our sister Muffin that and it cleared it up fine. They like the new cherry flavored . At first they don't want it but we sneak it in and then mom tells us we are good kids . Then we forget about it. We are thinking about you Radar and hope you are feeling better. You got a good mom.  hug

Radar seemed to be a bit better yesterday, but last night he got worse. Upset stomach with his chicken mix, pepto and water. I have crushed some ice so he can lick the pieces and at least not dehydrate. Today he went to his vet. He took 2 x-rays and didn't see any blockage. Thank goodness for that. He has no temp. either. The vet gave him a shot of Pepcid AC. to help with the acid buildup in his tummy. And also another shot to relax, and also to trick his brain into not vomiting. If he is still sick tomorrow, he will do some blood work.

We live in N.H., so it is a lot of snow and cold. His vet told me he actually had 3 other dogs with the same symptoms as Radar. He did the x-rays and 2 shots to all 3 of them. Two where back to their old selves the next day. The third one a black lab, went in for the blood work today. I am praying that the shots also work for Radar.

At this point his vet does not know what the illness is. I seems rather strange that 4 dogs in our small community, seem to have the same thing.

This morning he was more lively. He went out to do his duties. And also had his breakfast. He was still shaking, so we decided to bring him back to his vet. His vet decided to keep him for the day, and run all the blood tests, just to make sure. Because he is so little, he could crash real fast.

Seems strange without my little buddy here. But he is in good hands. I will post his test results when I have them. blue dog

frown Our prayers go out to litttle radar. I know Mimi is so nervous . We try to keep her calmed down and that is hard because she is so high strung and wiry. She really is a nut. We love her that way though. We are praying that maybe Radar is just hyper and is upsetting his stomach. We will think positive and with a few prayers too. Our pups can't tell us what is wrong and that is so sad but we are wishing all the best for our little friend. applause

Radar has pancreatitis, that is an inflammation of his panceas. It is very painful, that is why he is shaking so much. Thank goodness it is a mild case of pancreatitis. As he could have died with-in hours. He is now on meds for his pain and to take care of the inflammation.

The vet says that the usual dog that gets pancreatitis is older, overweight, get into rubbish and from eating high fat content food. Radar is none of the above, he is not quite 2 yrs, not over weight, does not eat out of the rubbish doesn't eat high fat foods. The vet also said, there are some dogs that the cause is unknown. Radar may have a recurrence through out his life, or he may not.
