 |  |  |  | Muffin, we use PSE and you can add shadows easily with it. Do you see "Effects" on the right side where your layers are? If not, click "Window" on top, then click "Effects" in the list. Under "Effects" click the "Layer Styles" icon, then choose "Drop Shadows" from the list.
Experiment with the different types to choose the effect you want. You can make changes to the drop shadows if you want to by clicking "Layer" at the top, then "Layer Style".
I hope we didn't complicate this. You'll find once you start using this feature it's very simple. If we didn't explain this well ... if you have any questions ... please ask
If you don't like the way any of the drop shadows look, you can do what Norman suggests and make your own. I've done that to create a (white) glow behind objects. |  |  |  |  |
