Mom put frontline on me this morning. I rolled around afterwards like a rabid dog trying to get it off me. I rolled and flipped and somersaulted and growled. Mom checked the area where she put it on and it wasn't red so she hopes I just didn't like the way it felt or smelled. Now...I am home in my crate and she is at work and she's worrying about me. I was fine before she left! It's a good thing I joined this group!!!!!!!

When we get frontlined: My pack and I all take turns smelling each others frontline while Mom pushes us away from each other.
shrug that's confusing...it's a new smell, we need to check it out.

Anyway... the first time Maxwell was frontlined, he was very nervous (looking warily at his back and getting a little 'crazy eye'). I had to teach him that he didn't have to run away from it.
Mom was no help at all, of course, she's busy freaking out that we're gonna lick it off each other. sheesh.

I hate the way the Advantage smells when she first puts it on. If your skin wasn't red or anything, you probably just don't like smelling like a frikkin' chemical factory!!! Why do humans do these things to us??? I sit right next to Finkmom after she puts the Advantage on me so she has to smell it, too! big grin

Sunny Lee,

We all want to roll right after we've had it applied. Mom thinks it's the smell.

Me and my sibs know that Ma is trying to poison us when she puts that on us! We run, roll, quiver... She still does it and so far, we've lived. confused

Actually, I don't mind Frontline Plus. I associate it with getting a treat because Mama always gives me a treat with it. My sister, Phoebe is another story. It is high drama whenever she has to have any meds. What a girlycat.shrug

OK, so this shows how Neurotic Mom is. She has us use Sentinel Flavor Tabs which has the low-dose flea stuff in it. Sometimes if we actually get infested then we HAVE to use Advantix, like last October. Well, the woman is SO paranoid that one of the pathetic human offspring will touch us, or we will rub against the couch, or get some on the carpet, that then we have to be banished outside for a full 24 hours while it absorbs into our skin. Yep. That's right. The stuff is skin-absorbed. So Mom thinks one of the Lads will skin-absorb some by accident. Oh yeah, the Vet rolls his eyes and looks at her like she is a nut-case (which she is, is my opinion.) Mom wears latex gloves while putting it on us. It does leave an Oil-Slick on me, which I guess is because I am short haired. That's different; when Mom had Tyler he had long hair and so at least it wasn't so noticeable. I sure hope the Sentinel keeps us protected enough this Fall, because the agony of the Advantix Banishment and being treated like a Pesticide Leper was terrible.

LOL Mulligan! It won't absorb into the lads! People have that fear all the time! Mommy works in a private poison control center and one of their industry clients is Bayer Animal Health, the makers of Advantix. Non-toxic, and won't absorb into a human. It just follows hair follicles, and that's how it spreads. Perfectly understandable fear though!

Oh, I should clarify though, it is HIGHLY toxic to cats! Keeping the dog away from the cat(s) for 24 hours is adviseable, for those of you out there with feline family members. Advantage isn't toxic to them, but Advantix is.
