We could hear the fireworks off in the distance but we jumped up on the sofa next to our Pack Leader, one on each side, and we fell asleep. It wasn't bad at all this year. Gosh, the 4th is over and now we think maybe we might kind of like it afterall. blue dogblue dog

The fireworks don't last that long and you can hide in your car in the garage or in a bathroom.

Hi to all Joyriders!
The forecasted thunderstorms on the 4th held off until late in the day and Dad and I got in a nice rafting trip after all. There were LOTS of fireworks around our way and I was quite a nervous pup,but Dad turned the fan on high and its noise drowned out much of the fireworks. big grin big grin big grin

So glad the weather held off for your rafting trip, but sorry to hear the fireworks may have upset you but glad the fan helped. We were just a little on guard about the bombardment, but took it all pretty well. We are having a lovely Summer and don't even need the air conditioning on! The days are in the low 70's and the nights are in the low 60's. Perfect! Hope your Summer is super too! cooper and clem

This year Kathy took me out and we watched the fireworks with the neighbors. They are launched from the hill behind our house, so they are really loud. I ran around in circles and barked at the flashes and booms just like when we have a thunder storm. After a while I barked enough that they stopped, just like the thunder storms do.

I liked being outside better. I could bark right at them instead of having to try to guess which door to choose for barking in the house.

Good barking job, Bode! Did you like the flashes from the fireworks? We haven't actually seen any fireworks. We only hear them. They do sound like thunder. We're being trained to go into the lowest level of our house and into our crates. They are our 'Dens' and we like them very much. Very calming.
