We hope everyfur had a happy and safe weekend. Mother and Father were in a wedding, and the dogs went to stay at the Grandparents' house for the weekend. It was very nice having some quiet time. big grin

Ok, I am here 'legally" now. Mom finally added me to the group. Thanks for the assist, Paisan! I am a Molly rescue and I am now Molly's companion. I am so glad she found me. I was alone, hungry, scared, hungry and hungry. I have gained some weight since I have been hanging around with Molly. She always has food and CLEAN water. (no more gutter drinkies) This is so pawsome. I wanted to say hi to everyone!!!!

Welcome, Orangie! Is Molly your mother? We are all so happy you have found your furever home! Muffin and I are both rescues as well. Living here is certainly better than in our cages!

Hi you guys!!!! Well, I did not get in trouble for playing in the street. (I live on a cul de sac) But, mom did let me know how much she loves me. I wrote all about it in my diary.

What I don't know how to do properly on this group is this...how do we request purrs for a furrriend on Catster? Let me fill you in...Loki dude went in for routine dental work and is basically mostly comatose. He is only 18 months old. Why??? His ID is 1018686. I am not sure how to post on this group and don't want to mess things up.

You can post prayer requests in the Prayer Request Thread in the group. That way furs know where to look fur them! We will say prayers fur sweet Loki!

Hope y'all are having a wonderful summer! It's been so quiet both at home and on Catster. Guess many are on vacation. Meowmy has been complaining about how HOT it is outside but since I stay indoors all the time and the air conditioner has been on, I haven't noticed it at all. big grin

Meowy has been out of work for a year now and it's been tough finding a new job because no one around here has been hiring. She has had a few interviews lately -- a good sign! -- and one counsellor told her he thought things are going to turn around soon (hope so!) Meowmy is now volunteering with a cat rescue and shelter group. It's hard to not to feel so bad for those poor homeless kitties and not want to take them all home! This is a no kill shelter and all the kitties are up for adoption and meowmy is helping out with the ones at the PetSmart adoption center. She's also applying for volunteer work at a hospice care provider. She needs to undergo medical testing and a background check first, so the process will take awhile, which will give her time to think about whether she feels emotionally strong enough to interact with dying people and end of life issues without a meltdown.

A good thing happened to meowmy yesterday. She went to the dentist for her 6 month check up and teeth cleaning. She has been going to her dentist for many years and usually chats with her. She told her dentist that she was out of work and no longer had dental insurance and had to pay the bill herself, so even though she's due for xrays, she needed to skip them. When she was done and went to the reception desk to pay her bill, the receptionist said there was NO CHARGE -- the dentist was not charging her anything because she's out of work! Meowmy was stunned and tried to insist on paying but they insisted too and wouldn't take her money. big grin big grin God bless her kind and generous dentist (who incidentally is also a Catholic).
