	I'm so happy to have found this site and this group! You are so right, you just don't see many collies or collie stuff out there! But I tell you what, when ever we take our collies anywhere, people rush up to meet our dogs and so many of them tell us stories about a wonderful collie they grew up with or that their grandparents has such a wonderful collie on the farm and they will never forget that dog! And talk about great with kids and people! Collies are the best people dogs! We'd always adopted rescued shelties in the past and still have our 12 yr old Peanut but a friend who is a collie breeder always told me if I loved shelties, I will lose my heart to collies. So, 3 years ago we got our very first puppy Murphy! Yup, I lost my heart to him right away! While we were waiting for him to be born and then for him to be 9 weeks old so he could come home with us, I started reading as many Albert Payson Terhune books about his collies and now I am a collector of his book! My goodness, I can so see so many personality traits he described in my collies! Like the singing they do that seems to be just a collie thing, the absurdly tiny feet for such a big dog, their heart, the love they have for their people.......gosh, he sure did know collies! I will continue this with our other collie.

	Hi again! So, as I was saying, our Murphy is a great collie! We went to puppy kindergarden together and Murphy was THE STAR STUDENT! Murphy loves our little sheltie but he's a big rough with her just because he is so much bigger! So, In December 07 my collie breeder friend offered us Murphy's mother Pepper since she was retired from breeding. We weren't sure we were a 3 dog house so decided to try her for 2 weeks. One thing we learned is having 2 dogs is like having 2 dogs but having 3 is like having 10! LOL! The minute Pepper came into our home all of us fell in love with her but especially Murphy. I don't know if they somehow know they are related or if they know they are both collies or what but the bond was instant! So we took Pepper in and had her spayed and vetted and she is now one of us. We now know the only thing better than having a collie is having 2 collies! I hope to someday train with one of my collies, Murphy or Pepper or another collie down the road to be a pet therapy team. But for now we love all the new friends our dogs lead us to! There sure is something very special about these dogs. Anyway, nice to "meet" you all!
