Hi, I am Willow's Mommy and I have been blessed with her for almost 2 weeks. I am training her on the wee wee pads until the vet gives her her next set of shots (he doesn't recommend her to go outside yet). I use the crate when we go out and to sleep at night and she doesn't seem to relieve herself in it, so I know she is capable of holding it. She does great for half the day ( I give her a treat and she gets sooo happy), but then in the latter part of the day just decides to go peepee and poops wherever she pleases! I do not hit or spank her, I just say No and put her on the pad. Can anyone give me some ideas or pointers on what works and what doesn't with regard to training??? Thanks smile

Awwww. I wish I could help. I work from home and make sure Lilly can get to her pee-pad every 1 1/2 to 2 hours. I know it does take time and patience to train them. Things will get better =)

Thanks Lily! I am mostly home too, so I always put her on her pad - she is just a baby and she will get it...hopefully!!! snoopy

You can prevent lil accidents by taking her to her pad

* After meals
* After play time
* After naps

((We've only had a few accidents in the house and Lilly has been home for week and a half now with us))

OK, here's the thing......we wake up in the morning after sleepimg half the night with Mommy and half the night in my crate....mommy puts me on my pee pee pad (in the kitchen) in the morning, takes me a few minutes, but I finally go...mommy feeds me breakfast in the kitchen, we play for a few minutes, then mommy gates us in the kitchen so I can go poops....Yay, I go!! cheer BUT then I go with mommy to her room with a toy while mommy is getting dressed...I decide to piddle on her bedroom floor....why do I do these things??? I just went on my pad, why can't I remember to go back to my pad? mommy keeps it in the same place.....Help!!!! thinking

Is your bedroom a ways away from her piddle pad? That could be one of the reasons. We are 5 months old now and still don't get free run of the house. We are allowed only in the living room and the kitchen. We don't have any potty accidents anymore and our mommy says that's why. Too much room to run is not good for us that are learning to use the piddle pad. Our mommy said that when we are a little older she will introduce us to one more room each week and see how we do from there, I bet we can still make it back to our piddle pad. Good luck Willow, show your mommy how it's done cheer cheer

I have found when I am getting ready for work and Kozmo is away from his PP pad, he goes anywhere as well. If you get him closer to his PP pad (which is in the guest bath), about 5 to 10 feet away, he walks right into the bathroom and uses it with no problems. We even put one in our bathroom, but he does not associate the fact that it's the same thing as what's in his bathroom. I really think the location has soomething to do with it!
