 | | | | Hi everyone. Here is Bella's Diary post. I thought you would all like to know the latest. Let's all keep sweet Bella and her Mom in our thoughts.
Hi all, I am sorry I haven't been able to post in all the groups. Things have been very stressful as you can imagine. Thank you all for your gifts and pmails, I will respond as soon I am not on Bella watch.
As most of you know, Bella swallowed a 6 inch nylabone Sunday night. I rushed her to the emergency vet and they took x-rays. The bone didn't show but there was food in the stomach and the bone was clear so there was doubt that it would show up. I left with a list of instructions on what to watch for and if any signs from the list happened rush her back to the clinic.
Three days later, 3 sleepless nights and no news. She is still eating & going to the bathroom so the bone isn't causing an obstruction as of today. My vet said it could still be in the stomach floating around and could be for a week. The longer it stays in the stomach it will irritate & inflame it and that isn't good. If it goes into the colon and causes a blockage, that isn't good. He said to give her Metamucil with her meals to try and bulk her up and get it moving. There is a chance this could pass naturally. If it was me I would be screaming trying to pass this thing.
It's still a waiting game. They said there is a chance she didn't eat it but the bone isn't in my house. I have ripped the house apart and looked in every nook and cranny & trust me, if there was a yummy bone here...she would be chewing on it.
Any news I will post here to keep everyone up to date. So far the power of the paw prayer is working...thank you and please keep thinking of us. | | | | |
