Have an addiction to chasing birds??

OK pups I’ve been going to my BA (birds anonymous) group and I was thinking maybe we should be here fur each other. way to go So I’m gonna go first. wave Hello my name is Gracie and I’m a 5 year old Weimaraner who loves to chase birds. cheer When I was just a few weeks old I found a little dead bird shock and brought it to my mom and dropped it at her feet. Oh it was already dead shrug I didn’t do it by the way. I think it was then that I became addicted. confused Plus when I was little my dad would put a pheasant wing on the end of his fishing pole, he would cast it out and real it in as I chased it. Plus they say I’m a bird dog dog so this is really gonna be hard for me to just watch these birdies here at Emma Place. I’m hoping with your support we can all learn to mind our manners.. wink

Gracie, while your therapy at BA may assist you, it is highly unlikely to be successful. You are a bird dog as I am a retriever. It's what we do. Get over it. BOL!

PS: It would be like me going to Water Anonymous. I am a water dog. I must get into the water when I see it. I just can't help myself. BOL BOL!

hi gracie and painter wave my name is emma and I also am a birdaholic. I so far havent caught one but I will chase anything that moves. I'm glad to have a support group like this and glad to know there are others like me and that I'm not alone. I know it is inherited, and that's why I am like this shock I need to get help before all those little feathered critters start flying around eek I don't want to be hiding in the bushes anymore....I need to face my problem head on cheercheer

When I see those little birdies I just stand really still and my body starts to quiver and I go on point…. Then the drool starts when I think of those wings and legs and oops wait a minute I’m thinkin about chicken sorry got off track there. laugh out loud Where was I now. Oh ya the birds they just tempt ya to chase them. Flying around hopping from one branch to another laughing at us cause we can’t jump that high. Someday..

Now Pop I here ya on the kitties kitty they are just a 4 legged ball of fur wanting to be tossed in the air. Oops sorry didn’t mean that. Also what about those rabbits ever been tempted by those little critters??

I can see that this bird addiction problem is more rampant than I figured. I am going to have to do more research and see what we can try to do about it, but I think you will all loose to your natural instincts. BOL BOL

PS: Group therapy will allow more open, honest communications and dialogue, so I encourage you all to continue your program.

Hi...my name is Shelby...I was wondering if maybe the world should be more tolerant to all the bird dogs in the world...why should we be good around birdies...oops...My name is Shelby and I have bird addiction. Since I came to my new home, I always stare at the sky when birds go by. I lift my paw and point. No one taught me that, it is in my blood. At my weakest point I chased a flock of resting geese out of a pond with two of my other Lab friends. Mom is worried we will get a ticket from the Park Ranger for harrassing the wildlife...I do want to be good....at least at Emmas...not sure I can give it up completely.... shrugshrugshrug

I so need some help..........mom hangs not one but 5 bird houses all over the yard...attracting every kind of bird there is......and they are always JUST out of reach.........I keep tryin.....tryin to learn how to climb a tree.....it's sick.....I need help.......confused
