Hello EveryPup! And Welcome to No Breed is a Bad Breed. This group is a group that is all against Breedism. Breedism Is when people think some breeds are better that others, or some breeds are bad. Some breeds really have a bad reputation. When A lot of people think of Pit Bulls or Rottweilers, Dobermans and German Shepherd Dogs, The think of vicious dogs that will kill anything is sight. At no breed is a Bad breed, we don't EVER think that. Dogs are never Born bad, but owners can raise them bad, creating theses mean dogs. Well, now you know what the group is about, so here are the rules.

1.Have A Great time Chatting with other members.
2.Have Fun Laughing with other Members.
3.Have fun Partying with other members.
4.HAVE FUN!
5.I know you all will do this anyway, but Respect other members.

Welcome and Have fun At No Breed is a Bad breed.

What a great new group for a great New Year! Happy 2008 to ALL dogs, be they large or small, feared or revered! This is a great idea, Pepper! I love that now there's a place that's guaranteed not to be "breedist." I love Dogster, but sometimes very hurtful/uneducated statements are made about certain breeds... and not just the "bully breeds" that get the worst of it! My chosen breed, Jack Russells, garner lots of negative comment, as do many other non-bully breeds (cocker spaniels, chihuahuas, beagles, Border collies, etc.). I think it's important to understand the pros and cons of each breed very well before one embarks on ownership of a certain dog... however, understanding the cons and working to bring out the best in dogs is MUCH different than bad-mouthing and stereotyping dogs based on their membership in a breed designation. I know, I'm preaching to the choir here... but I'm just so excited to have a group like this! I hope lots of Dogsters join up soon and we can all have fun learning about the different breeds out there!

So true Tess! The "Bully Breeds" do get the worst of the Breedim and Hurtful comments. But, other breeds do get there fair share of it. It's so wrong all this Breedism going around. I wish It could all just stop. A lot of shelters put Pit Bulls and pit Bull mixes to sleep when they get them. I'm Sure a lot of those dogs could have lived happy lives with great families, with little or no behavior problems. It's so sad the horrible Reputation The "Bully Breeds" have. In movies, a good amount of the time Rotties are the "Bad Dogs". They are also the dogs that are sometimes pictured on Beware of Dog signs. I hope in the new year there is less breedism. And Welcome to the group Tess!

I toataly agree with all said. WAY to much Breedism. WE should make some sort of education program to euducate Dogster about BReedism. ALL dogs ARE good dogs. Breeds are JUst a suit! So true all this stuff Pepper and Tess!

Yes, WE SHOULD Educate the puplic about BReedism. It's so wrong. A good thing to do would be to Make a thread on the forums. There already is one on Dog Laws and legislation. Also, try to get lots of "Bully Breed" Stories. Of course, they Should be of GOOD things they did! I'll Make a thread in a moment called Bully Breed Stories. Be sure to post your stories there!(Include Author or Author Unknown.) Also, Soon I will be making membership cards.

Layla, it is so sad the peole move to the other side of the room at the vet! I'm sure you are better behaved than some of those other dogs that are there. Alot of breeds are supose to be "mean," but end up being the sweetist breeds there are! Welcome to the group,Layla!

Thank you for making this great group Pepper. way to go

I have been lucky that I have never had anyone give me a bad comment or act baddly towards me (I am part Chow), but that might be because I really don't look alot like a Chow. shrug I am very friendly with most people, and am always very well behaved because my mom taught me how to behave around people.cloud 9

Come to think about it, mom hasn't really heard any bad comments about any of her dogs. She has three Border Collies, me (a Chow/Finnish Spitz mix), a Sheltie mix, and a Pomeranian. She gets angry when someone makes a bad comment about any breed (we have heard many bad comments directed towards Pits, Chows, and Rottis), and it is annoying to see how many people don't even know what a Pit looks like, or think that any dog with any amount of purple/black on their tounge MUST be a Chow and still have a closed mind about the breeds. cry

Thats so great they you have had no bad comments about anyfur in your furry family. It is horrible that people make comments about dogs with even the slightest bit of purple/black on their tongues. Welcome to the group and I hope you have fun.

I have been pretty lucky too that no one has said anything about me being a "bully breed" at least not that I've heard and if they did, mom would straighten them out. Bol! I used to have a Rottweiler brother (he's at the Rainbow Bridge now) and he was as sweet as could be. My mom always says, too, that there are no bad dogs, just bad owners. Mom & Dad take me to a dog park a few miles from where we live and I get along great with all the other dogs and people too! People just need more education about dogs in general I think.
