Tico's message to the group:
I would be most honored to receive cards!
We all SO enjoyed getting Christmas Cards from our Dogster pals and getting a lovely card in the mail is THE best!
Since Mom is old fashioned she prefers snail mail but if it not possible for some e-mail is OK too.
Thank You for thinking of me!

BACKGROUND FOR SHOWER REQUEST:
From Tico's Diary:
"Yesterday morning at aprox. 7:30 am our beloved brudder Tico was attacked by a HUGE Hawk in our own backyard.
Mom usually goes out with us but we had all overslept and Mom had to use the bathroom so she just let us out to do our business.
We have a large fenced in yard in a busy suburban neighborhood.
Mom heard Lucy,Daisy and H.Parker barking like crazy and looked out the bathroom window and saw what she thought was a big brown box in the yard.
Now why would someone throw a big box in our yard??? She thought... So Mom put on her coat and boots and went outside to discover it was a HUGE Hawk sitting on the ground about 20 feet from our house and he had Tico in his talons.
Lucy,Daisy and H.Parker tried everything to get Tico away from it.They were charging and barking and that hawk did not even blink.
Mom FREAKED out and started screaming and throwing snow.
When that didn't work she ran in to call Dad...He started yelling at Mom "Get the Dog" "Get Tico" and Mom is screaming.."I'm afraid..I'm afraid" Dad kept screaming for Mom to get Tico and she finally went into the garage and started throwing stuff at the Hawk.
She threw a bottle of oil, wood, jumper cables, tools, anything she could find and that *** Hawk would NOT move. She finally picked up a snow shovel and whipped it at the Hawk and he flew off leaving Tico bleeding on the ground. Mom scooped up Tico, got all the dogs in, grabbed a towel, coat and boots for her and our furless sissy and jumped in the car.
The Hawk was sitting on the snow shovel watching us as we left.
The emergency hospital is no more than 5 minutes from our house Thank Goodness but Mom was crying the whole way. There was blood everywhere and Mom kept yelling for Tico to stay awake.
Mom rushed into the hospital screaming and crying and Tico was whisked away upstairs to the ER. Mom had blood all over her and was trying to be as positive as possible for our little furless sissy but it wasnt easy!
A little while later Dad showed up at the hospital and both he and Mom cried for a while. After about 1/2 hour the Dogter came in and said Tico was in shock and had lost a lot of blood. They were concerned about neurological damage as he took a talon or beak puncture to the head. His body temp was down to 95 degree's and they had him in an incubator to keep him warm and on pain meds and fluids.
The Dogter said the good thing was that he is young and younger pups tend to bounce back faster, but, always a but, the bad thing was that he is SO tiny. After a while we were allowed to see him and it was just heartbreaking! He was lethargic and his head was SO swollen. We all gently rubbed his paw and told him we loved him and to keep fighting.
We would like to thank all of our Dogster friends for their support, prayers, kind words, pmails, stars and rosettes. Mom had tears in her eyes last night reading some of the comforting words and will thank everyone when she can." | | | | |
