Do you have a family favorite for us pups? Milky bones? Peanut butter chips? It would be fantastic if you guys could share them wink

And if you all want you can post some recipes from reliable websites for simple dog cookies or treats at this special time of year.

Thanks snoopy

Mom made this for my pups last year and we loved it! Our family doesn't eat pig-products since Grandpa's Muslim religion forbids it, so Mom replaced the pork bacon with a tinsy bit of turkey bacon. I know it's probably not the most healthy treat, but hey, it's only once a year. laugh out loud

Christmas Cookies for your Doggie
* 1 cup cornmeal
* 3 1/2 cups whole-wheat flour
* 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
* 4 tablespoons instant soup stock mix(beef, chicken or vegetable)
* 4 tablespoons bacon bits
* 3/4 cup vegetable oil
* 1 1/3 cup water (approx)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Blend all ingredients thoroughly.
Roll mixture 1/4 inch thick onto floured cutting board or other smooth surface.
Cut to desired shapes with cookies cutters or a knife. Be creative!
Bake for approx 35 - 45 minutes, basting lightly with meat or bacon drippings.
Cool thoroughly before serving.
WOOF!

--message from Mom--

Mentioning human recipes, does anyone know a good one for pumpkin bread? I bought plenty of canned pumpkin for the pumpkin pie this Thanksgiving, but I'm fairly sure I'll have plenty extra, so I'd like to try making pumpkin bread.

Thanks! snoopy

mommy is no baker, so if she can do this, it must be easy! PUNKIN BREAD RECIPE
1 1/2 cups (210g) flour
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 cup (200 g) sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup (1/4 L) pumpkin purée*
1/2 cup (1 dL) olive oil
2 eggs, beaten
1/4 cup water
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1/2 cup (1 dL) chopped walnuts (or not...whatever ya like)

1 Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Sift together the flour, salt, sugar, and baking soda.

2 Mix the pumpkin, oil, eggs, 1/4 cup of water, and spices together, then combine with the dry ingredients, but do not mix too thoroughly. Stir in the nuts.

3 Pour into a well-buttered 9x5x3 inch loaf pan. Bake 50-60 minutes until a thin skewer poked in the very center of the loaf comes out clean. Turn out of the pan and let cool on a rack.

Makes one loaf. Can easily double the recipe.
