Heehee, I've always wanted to say that!!!!

I've noticed that the same topics come up again and again on te Behavior and Training forum - things like how do I house train my dog and my dog pulls on the leash.

I also know tha sometimes I don't answer them because I feel like it was just asked and adequately answered and I don't feel like typing all that again.

So I thought we could have an archive of training methods written in minute detail that we can all easily access to answer those questions.

I also thought it would be a nice place to compare and contrast training methods. Personally, I can think of at least 4 ways to train down and while that may seem like enough, an additional 3 or 4 can never hurt. You never know what you may encounter in your travels through life.

ETA If you want to invite anyone, feel free, it's an open group, but I'd like to see all positive reinforcement methods.

I agree, great idea Asher. I am like you and often don't respond to threads, and I feel bad about it because I remember what it was like to be a new owner and having a lot of questions. I am just too lazy to type, sometimes!

Really good idea, Asher. I think that this will help out a lot, particularly since dogster has a variety of training "camps" or "schools of thought" represented amongst the considerable membership.

Thanks for the invite!

Thanks for the invitation. Brandi and I went through a whole series of interaction training this summer and it has made all the difference in her and how I react to her. We are now preparing to move to a new house in just a few more days and she will then be getting a new sister.....

I am very anxious to relate what I learned from my trainers to anyone who is interested in purely positive training. It works so well and they don't forget their lessons....

Yup, I'm interested too. I tried to invite positive reinforcement trainers for input. Like I said, you can always use a few more tools in your toolbox.

In addition, I sometimes have trouble thinking outside the box, so anything different is appreciated, just no punishment.

Thanks for the invite!! This group was a good idea because I will also skip answering a post just because I don't want to retype it all over again.
