Greetings Fellow Dog-Gone Humans,

Yesterday was not quite the carefree day I had planned. At four in the AM my baby, Sequel, awoke me simultaneously vomiting and diarrhea. At eight Am there was a tiny amount of blood in both. As I rushed her to the vet massive amounts of blood began spewing out both ends of my baby girl. After several hours they sent us to an advanced critical care hospital. The DVM says it looks like Acute Hemorrhaging Gastritis. Since I returned home at ten PM they have been updating me on her condition every several hours. I will be heading back to be with her during visiting hours this morning. I know many of you are parents and may not understand my attachment to my four legged daughter. She is my child and my best friend. She is only 17 months old. Earlier this year we lost her brother, Hiside, who died at sixteen years old. I am still devastated. He had been with me half my life. I can't lose my girl too. Please keep my baby in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you.

Keeping Sequel in our thoughts. Really know how scary that is as my dogs are my family also.

Thank you Dante for the warm wishes. They meant allot to me and my baby.

Diagnosis: Acute Hemorrhaging Gastroenteritis caused by Coccidiosis. Things were a bit touch and go for a little while as she went into shock. She is on the mend now. Taking a pharmacy of medications and on a strict diet consisting of several small servings of steamed rice, carrots and chicken. So all in all very good news. The down side is that my other baby girl, Senna, is now being treated as when I returned home with Sequel late last night Senna had begun to exhibit all of the same symptoms. So I dropped one at home and made an almost immediate return trip to admit the other. As they already know what she has her treatment should be easier than Sequel's so I feel confident that all will be well.

Again I am deeply grateful for your support through this frightening ordeal. You are a star. Just check your page to see. wink

Senna's was caught early and apparently not as bad as Sequel so she is now home with Sequel & me. She is on all the same meds and diet. They are both still a bit off colour but thankfully on the mend. Thanx again for the well wishes. I really believe they helped us. Or at least me. hug

Sorry we are late , But we will keep praying for you and your family . We know how you feel for my 2 girls DaisyMay & Ivy Rose are my girls and my babys . I have no kids ( Human ) . And I just dont know what I would do with out them . They come before any one and they are spoiled rotten . But I enjoy every moment of it and with them . Even my Husband an tell you that my world revales around them . Even though some tmes I may go overboard with them . But thats my job to keep them save and give them a loving home . As they would keep us safe . And give us all there love . The greatest feeling I ever had is when I leave work or just coming home from any where . And you know that as soon as you walk in that door they are waiting for you . And they are as excite to see you as you are them . I will end this here .

Love
Rose

i can imagine how it must've been for you. there was a time when one of my dogs gave me a scare. the vet said she wouldn't be able to survive her illness. i was terrified. my dogs have been at one point in time and for the better part of the year, my sole companions. losing my dog would be like losing a part of me. i give them so much love and attention. and i get twice, thrice that in return. that particular dog proved the doctor wrong. not only did nabi survive the ordeal, she did everything the doctor said she would never be able to do.

i'm glad the pups are better. i always believed that loads of love go a long long way. hugs to you and your pups.
