My vet is controlling by sugar by diet right now. No insulin yet. However, I do eat Purina's wet DM along with a little bit of the dry. It took me a long time to get used to it and my vet is convinced that it could buy me time before I go on to insulin. Mom is not a very adventurous soul. Whatever the vet says, she trusts MOST of the time.
I wish you both well and you've come to the right group to get advice and support. These kitties are the best and they have really been a big help to mom and me.
