I think I am sick. My mom is worried it might be serious. I am going to the vet first thing in the morning. As many of you kind of know me , I may skip some details. Last weekend somebody came over and when he came to pet me, I rolled over on my back and sprayed pee all over. Then yesterday I was laying on the bed and when I got up there was a puddle of pee. I went in the kitchen and peed more. Today while my humans were gone (we were home alone for about 6 hours), I peed at least twice in the house. I am all most 4 we think and in the previous 9 months living here I never peed in the house ... well ok once or twice when I first got here when I was nervous. Mom is automatically thinking the worse. What do you all think. I don't seem to be in any pain ... however a few weeks ago I was chewing the middle of my tail and pulling the fur out. That has stopped. Mom is really nervous ... she wanted to take me in today, but it was to late by the time she got home. Any ideas how to stop me from peeing all over or to make me comfortable or any ideas what it is?

Sounds like a Urinary tract infection- maybe? How old are you?

Are you drinking a lot more water than normal- could be diabetes?

I don't think I am drinking more than before but I have always drank quite a bit ... Again I have only lived here for 9 months We think I am around 4 but the shelter I came from was not real clear on how old I was then.

Vets can sometimes tell by the teeth how old the animal is. A suggestion for your mum (since we went thru this before)- does she have a foil disposable baking pan? Tell her to catch some pee when you go and put in a small jar and take to vet with you. They can test it for infection and won't be as stressful on you as catheterising for urine. Also she can see if the color is yellow or orange tinged (blood in urine).

The vet did ask us to bring a urine sample. She was wondering how to catch it in a cup!? Mom says my pee has always been more yellow than Smokey's and Tiggers!

Nag- you don't use a cup. Do you have a foil cake or lasagne pan? They work the best.

I wouldn't get too worried yet- Buddy's mom. Your stress will have a toll on Buddy. It's probably a Urinary Tract Infection. He is still eating and drinking and not lethargic- right????
