Momma has been reading alot of the basset pages and has noticed a disturbing trend. I was wondering what you guys think? Seems that us bassets have alot of the same quirks. Like, we hate being disturbed when we're napping!! We really love our munchies and treats! Also, we don't like our tender feet touched!! On the good side though, we are pretty dang funny, and loving cuddle bugs! Anything else that I'm missing? Just wondering if I'm the only one who noticed this. Bassets Rock!!puppy

Talking about quirks...does anyone else have to sit on something soft to eat...I have a rug that I sit on to eat my dinner....Chelsey (atb) and Daisy(another basset, but I didn't know her either...she is atb).,they also had to sit on a rug.Must keep my tushy warm....

LOL Yes, we Bassets are quirky. We love our car rides!! Fur sure!! The sitting on something soft, hmm, that's a new one to me. Personally, I eat so fast I don't have time to sit down!!puppy

Being a basset/poodle mix, I can say I definitely have some of the same quirks, although I have made some breakthroughs. My sister is a golden retriever and loves to swim. Up until recently I HATED to swim, but I would always get jealous watching her fetching balls out in the water. I would just stand there and bark. Then, just a few weeks ago, I decided enough was enough! I just dove right in and swam out after her! I decided I didn't like it much and haven't gone back in, but it definitely was exciting!

I agree!! I love to swim! Probably helps that I'm half retriever. I don't like the floating sensation but when other dogs are out there i can't help myself! IT's so funny how us mixes all have short legs!! My mommy and daddy really like me though so when they get me a playmate it's going to be another basset mix!! Ruff
