Well...belly rubs are extremely important and yes, they are addicting. While I don't know exactly how much you are addicted to belly rubs, I will prescribe the following advice.
Your dad needs to bottle up the belly rubs for you. He must give you at least 2 straight days of belly rubs and bottle them up immediately so that you can refrigerate them and use them for a later day--as an emergency.
Also, I want your mom to start developing split concentration. This is a technique that I've been working on with my Collies. The pawrent must learn how to do two things at one time.
Your mom must practice, practice, practice this technique. She can study and hold her book wiff one hand...and then she must slowly intergrate your belly into the vicinity and use her other hand to give you the belly rubs.
At first you might be annoyed because the amount of pressure, the exactness and the movement may not be the same...but please do not snap at your mom. She has to practice and practice in order to get the doing two things at one time exact. And you, Miss Worried About Your Needs, must give her positive reinforcement. No snapping or looking annoyed.
In time, you will have her studying, giving you belly rubs and ordering pizza on the phone. I swear, trust me on this one Needy. It works. My collie friends have been doing studies for quite awhile and their findings have been very positive.
Let me know how it goes. Now I must go back to my geological study of rocks. Good evening and good luck.
