Mom picked my ashes up last Thursday and they are in a nice wooden container. She has them in the entertainment center so that I can hang out with Mom and Dad and all the other furs while they are watching TV.

That sounds like a good idea Max. Mom will have to take me for a few car rides too. I always did a little dance when it was time to go.

I didn't really like to ride because I knew I was going to the Vet. But I sure did like laying on the sofa and watching TV. puppy

I picked up Preshy's ashes today. It's shocking at how small the container was (I've never been through this before so didn't know what to expect). I didn't really know how to respond really, I just sort of clutched onto her on the way to the stained glass company. They have all sorts of beautiful boxes. We picked a wooden one with pressed dried flowers in two corners of the stained glass top. The owner is going to personalize it with her name and add a photo behind the glass. It's going to be so beautiful. We'll upload a picture when it's done in a few days.

Right now she's safely resting in my purse on my desk.

hug That sounds BEAUTIFUL Preshy hug

Mom currently has me on her headboard. That was my favorite place in the house...I loved to push everybody out of bed at night and I also liked to go take naps on the bed. Sometimes she holds me & talks to me too.. When my son Dozer joins me here, Mom has a vendor that makes beautiful wooden urns with poems and pictures inscribed into it...She is going to put us together again until she joins us...then we will all be mixed with Mom's ashes and be together forever. Some people don't understand that...But as Mom says..."To each their own"

Yep. I even went to work with her. I kept her company at her desk, and she stroked the box any time she needed a little love. Two of her coworkers were asking about me today and mom said it felt really good to talk about me in a happy way again. I think the ashes coming home offered a little bit of closure. It doesn't hurt any less, but it was the last big hurdle to get over before she'd let herself start to heal.

Your mom sounds like she has really nice/understanding co-workers! That is wonderful.

My ashes are on mommy's dresser. This summer, Daddy built a pet cemetery, but they haven't quite figured out how to "bury" me, and my four kitty siblings. Mommy is afraid that if they ever move from their house, that they would leave us behind. So she's thinking of keeping a small part of each of us (ashes), and then burying the rest, and putting flowers, etc. at the site. They already have a Celtic Cross, and a stone that has a poem about pets that go to the Bridge.

Any suggestions????? Our Vet said she took her beloved Lab's ashes and split them in three and let them go at her house, her summer camp, and the creek where her pup loved to play. We thought that sounded nice too.
