Hey guys,

I don't think I know a single dogster as generous and giving as Spike.

It seems like every time I logged on here, if he hasn't made one dogster's day he's made packs full of dogsters happy in any given day!

I wish I was in a better spot financially than I am, because I couldn't afford a present nearly as nice as what I'd like to give him.

But I know of a place where they have amazing leather collars and leashes, and I'd love to see if maybe you guys would like to work together to make Spike's day, make him as happy as he's made us, with Monte and me?

Or maybe we could all pitch in on a big care package for Spike, with treats and toys and all kinds of wonderful things!

Or, maybe you guys think it's a stupid idea.

I hope not. I got all excited thinking of doing something nice for the handsome guy.

I was thinking maybe something along the lines of the collars and leashes available at:

www.pacocollars.com

I'd be happy to throw in some toys and treats to go with it!

I think it's a great idea to do something special for him. I don't know about the collar and leash thing though. I think I read that he doesn't walk on a leash. thinkingthinking

Spike likes to swim and run. He likes TimBits. Perhaps gift certificates to Tim Horton's? REI? A doggy store that we can find in Ontario?

Ooooh thanks for the invite, we would love to be a part of anything special or craaaaazy idea we can come up with to show Spikey just how much we love him toooooooo xx

Mum is currently working on a gift box for Spike ... the trouble is here in France where we are we are having trouble finding toys suitable for BIG BOYS like himself.... So mom ordered a load of stuff from the UK and once it gets here she will then ship it on to this fabulous woofer .....

That said we are more than happy to help, contribute financially etc .... just let us know what we are doing and what you need from us and then you can consider it done xx

I think the parcel you mentioned would be great, we could include toys, treats, collars & leads ... but ALSO ... we could all send something as simple as cards and pictures in there too .... We know they have a scrapbook and whenever they get something from a fellow woofer they like to be able to put stuff in this too ... so we know that this would all make their day xx

Maybe we need to decide on like a central collection depot. One woofer has everything that everyone wants to send sent to them .... once all prezzies and cards, pictures etc have been received then that person can send it in one parcel to Spikey and gang on behalf of the Spikey Fanclub. WE could maybel all send money too that person to help with shipping costs ... or you could use my FEDEX account.

Mom says she has the time available to be the Central Depot, but the thing with that is that we are in France so it may take a little longer for all your gifts and stuff to get here for Spikey .... With regard to little notes and pictures you could email them mom and she would be more than happy to print them off for you ... that would save time ... but it dont solve the present delay...

Well, whatever you guys n gals choose to do we are just so honoured we are able to be a part of this xx

Yes! I have gotten the invite, and what a grrrrrreat group! This is pawsome, because Spike is such a grrrrrrrrrreat dog! He LOVES toys too! You know, is it possible if we could all pitch in and ask HQ to make Spike DOD or DOW? I think he would be flattered! wave

Great ideas!

If we need a central location for all the stuff to go to, I'd be happy to volunteer our home. Let me know what you think, and I can pmail my addy to whomever would like to send things.

Does anyone know about setting up paypal accounts? Would that be the best way, if we were all to contribute together financially, to pool our resources safely?

One other suggestion...I know Spike would love all the cards, letters and pics. We should definitely send those to a central location to be sent to him.

Being the generous guy he is though, do you think instead of gifts for him, he might appreciate a donation, in HIS NAME, to a dog shelter near his home? Just a thought.
